We have such a special treat this week for our run of “oh to be pure again”!

Playwright Kira Rockwell will be joining us on Wednesday, February 25th for a Q&A with Playcrafters at 5pm in CW105, and then following Wednesday’s show, a talkback! We are SO excited for Kira to be joining us, and we would for you all to join us as well! The show opens Wednesday in the Valborg Theatre, and runs through Sunday, March 1st! See you there

As writers, we’re often encouraged to “Write What you Know.” But what if what you know is difficult to write? What if writing what you know might hurt other people’s feelings? And how the heck do you make a well structured plot out of a collection of non-linear memories without triggering yourself past your window of threshold? In this trauma informed, healing centered workshop, learn how to transform your personal experiences into an inspirational force that propels you towards creating authentic, impactful works based on true stories. The workshop will include generative writing prompts, skill based exercises, light craft chat, group discussion, and an opportunity to share your work out loud with your peers. Writers of all levels are welcome.

2025 was the most challenging and transformative year of my life- especially stumbling yet preservering through matrescence. I will look back on this year with not always the fondest memories, but with the knowledge that I am much more capable than I ever gave myself credit for. But, I will always remember this year as the one that showed me what real true love is.
Most importantly, this year I really truly learned the importance of the women in your life. To all the incredibly inspiring, loving, nurturing, talented, hilarious, dependable, selfless, and supportive women in my life: I owe you everything. Thank you for all the walks in the park, long voice notes, book talks over wine, 3 am cluster feeding texts, constant checkins, and for loving Arielle like she was your own. Women are divine beings. I love you.
