Thank you to @shadowfrey_cosplay for grabbing this video of Toph on stage at the Cosplay Central Crown Championships at @paxaus . The crowd was wild and the best Aussie crowd I’ve ever had the pleasure of being in front of. The cheering was so loud and I had to remember to stay in character!

“Fear is the path of the dark side.”
Here are some more photos of Tudor Yoda- including a back shot for the Jedi Order symbol on the veil!

Again, I can not fully express how much fun I had creating this outfit. It was a joy to work on it.

For those who are interested, this Sunday I will be uploading a “How to make Yoda Ears” tutorial (short version here, long version on YouTube) and the following Sunday I will be uploading a full vlog on YouTube about how I had this outfit!

My next outfit is another history + pop culture costume so stay tuned!

“Boop-Oop-a-Doop!”

I have to say it - I love this cosplay!
She was fun to make, comfy to wear- I just hope people like her when she debuts at @mcmcomiccon next weekend!

After being on hiatus for so long (it’s almost been a year since I’ve made a full cosplay!), it felt good to get back into the swing of things and feel excited to be creating again. There were a few moments of uncertainty, BUT my Patreons pulled me out of it as they helped me decide the direction I took with this cosplay.

And now, I feel like a real showgirl!

Betty Boop is complete!
Construction vlog coming later this week/weekend
For now - enjoy this mock up to finish look!

To say I’m happy would be an understatement. This cosplay is VERY comfy AND I really love how it turned out (plus, it was really fun to make).

This was the first time gluing down my eyebrows - but then the eye make up undid all my work lol. But this is why we have test runs! I know what I need to do for next weekend when she debuts at @mcmcomiccon in London!

I love how the rhinestones make her sparkle like a real showgirl. :)

Mini Top Hat - travel friendly

This was a fun little project to figure out. As I am taking Betty Boop to the other side of the world for @mcmcomiccon in a little under a fortnight, I wanted to ensure this hat could be collapsible. Happy to say - Mission accomplished!

It is quite light and has two large clips for ease to fix to the wig. I added lace detailing so it would match the jacket and finished it off with a black ribbon band (and jewel… but more about that in the next post ;))

I feel SO cute!

Betty Boop is coming along very nicely and will be coming to @mcmcomiccon with me. Today I finished off the tailcoats and made the iconic loveheart garter. (I previously also made and sewed on the bow tie).

… and I couldn’t help myself. I had to try it all on with the wig, earrings and temporary-top-hat (I am in the process of making my own that will be more travel friendly).
I think my smile says it all.

Another massive win for this cosplay- it is VERY comfy to wear. WINNING!

A BIG thank you to all my patrons who unanimously voted that I needed to use the lace in the vest - I have learnt into that and have lace on the tailcoats and garter (and plan to use it in the real top hat too).

Next up is the real top hat which I am so pleased to tell you, the mock up was completed this evening so I plan to start that tomorrow.

“Boop-Oop-a-Doop!”

Cosplay plan reveal : when I say retro, I meant RETRO!
Betty Boop has long been on my cosplay wishlist but her iconic red dress wasn’t really my style. Thankfully, Betty has almost as many costumes as Barbie.

When I came across this one, I fell in love: bold colours, tailcoat, black SHORTS!

I am working hard on her so I can debut her at @mcmcomiccon in London later this month. Wish me God-speed so I can get her cranked out - and with a bit of extra pizzazz that I’m sure Betty would approve of.

(I also need to learn how to block out my eyebrows :))

Today we went to the York Medieval Fayre. I broke out my old hobbit costume and restyled it into something a bit more casual - I think I might need to add a some more items to make her a librarian or some sort of mage.

I made this outfit as part of a 24 hour challenge with @ladyrebeccafashions . We both have videos up on our YouTube channels that follow our builds and photoshoot we had together in Washington state.

Today is my last day of full time work!
