I can’t believe last night was our last Wednesday of the summer with @thesuffragettes it flew by too fast. Thankful for the fun memories, and the laughs, and getting to watch my incredible beautiful talented bestie @stephiewall sing like the country pop rock queen she is. Can’t believe we will have to wait a whole year for more memories. Summer Nights at @knottsberryfarm is never long enough.

Y’all know I can’t see film costumes and props on display and not take pics of them. My heart is still full from the Moana premiere. And it made me revisit both animated films and I’m just so in love with these stories and characters. Hopefully we keep exploring Moana in live action and animation.

🐚🌊 WORLD PREMIER OF MOANA 🐚🌊

I was lucky enough to go to the premiere of Moana at the Hollywood bowl as a guest of @thedrpepperprincess . What an experience! My heart is so full, seeing this at the bowl was incredible, and getting to see it with friends, really just made it extra special.

I loved the film. It’s visually stunning, the scenes on the island are fantastic. I laughed quite a bit, the Rock is fantastic as Maui and Catherine Laga’aia is a force. I had a smile the whole film and laughed quite a bit, and cried in the same places I did the original film. You can tell the people who created the film did it with so much love for the original and The characters we all love.

The scenes on the island especially hit different in the live action, because you could feel the pride and love they had for the culture that’s being represented and celebrated. Te Kā was also terrifying and the final action sequence was breath taking to watch. If you love the characters it’s a fun time.

If you have kids who love Moana it’s great to add to the rotation. Watching the film just made me feel good, it also made me want to rewatch the animated films.

I look back on these photos and what I see more than anything is so much love. I had no idea who would come or how many people would make it, and so many people came and expressed their love for my dad and how special he was to them. So many people talked about his kindness and his determination. I’m so thankful to have heard so many stories and been able to share pieces of him that maybe some people didn’t know.

I’m thankful to my friends who came to be with me and hold my hand through one of the hardest times and continue to let me lean on them. I’ve been given so much love, and I continue to be in awe of the kindness of the people in my life. taken in Torrance, California by @kirk.richard84

I created this instead of a program. My dad signed every letter and every card this way and it felt like a fitting tribute and a proper good bye.

On the back I typed out this poem written by a dear friend of my dad’s. My dad loved poetry, it was a huge passion of his, and something he spent his life supporting and celebrating. When I asked Joey for a poem, he sent this one and said he had shared it with my dad many times over their long friendship.

My hope was that people would read this poem and it would bring them comfort and inspire them, as well as be a great way to remember my dad. by @kirk.richard84

Last month we said good bye to my dad. Thank you to everyone who came to help celebrate an incredible life. The room was filled with so many people who he cared deeply about and it’s a day he would have loved.

Thankful to my friends who came and helped me set up the room, Hanz, @clarabecka and Flo. It wouldn’t have been as beautiful without your help. Thank you for being there to hold my hand.

Thank you to my mom for helping me put the entire event together, getting all the food, managing the photos, and countless other details.

This year I worked on so many incredible shows with so many great schools and groups. I’m so thankful that I get to do what I love every day. I work with so many incredible directors and educators and passionate theatre makers.

2 years ago, I had lost everything I had worked towards. I was tired and burnt out, and continuing making theatre felt like an impossible Herculean task. But I decided to keep going and rebuild, and I’m so thankful I have. My life is better because of the people I have met in the last two years. Thank you to the friends and directors who stood by me, supported me, and made it easy for me to pick myself up and keep going.

Frozen opens tonight at @havenartsacademy and I’m so incredibly proud of this show. Designing the costumes for this show has been a beast. I also painted the sets, and it’s been so nice being able to create during this time in my life. I’m very thankful to be able to turn towards the arts when my heart is heavy.

I wanted this incredibly shot by my friend @focusfactory to have a permanent place on the grid, because it’s just so amazing and breathtaking and I’m thankful for his collaboration and friendship.

A huge thank you to my team @teresasembroidery for building this dress exactly how I envisioned it and @aurora_harbinger for the incredible wig work.

Had dinner at one of my Dads favorite restaurants in his memory. He loved @pfchangs and gathering with loved ones over a meal there. I have plenty of fond memories with him here and made sure to order his favorite soup.
