Fact 1: though i didn’t start actually writing this book until the start of 2025, i had the initial idea and planned a lot of it out at the start of 2024 while watching the Australian Open. i was just unfortunately under contract for other books and couldn’t start it, but it ate at me and ate at me until the Australian Open the following year when i threw all scruples to the wind and decided to write it anyway—the book of my heart needed to be exorcised! by @kithaley.romance

Fact 2: i wrote the first draft of this book in the space of 6 very obsessive weeks. and while i then took another 4 or so to go back over and perfect it, the actual story changed very little from that first initial outpouring. when i really want to write something you cannot prise me away from the keyboard for anything 😅 hyperfocus is powerful though probably not very healthy. i don’t know what sunshine is by @kithaley.romance

Fact 3: i always keep a spreadsheet of chapter lengths for when it comes time to do edits, and usually it’s all just numbers. this time i also kept a colour-coded-by-degree-of-on-page-detail column for organising the sex scenes 😂 a first for everything! by @kithaley.romance

for all the many North American readers who message me daily asking where they can get a copy of In Your Court, until a US publisher picks it up, the answer is currently only in paperback i’m afraid (IM SORRY!! 😭) from one of two places

1) a signed, shiny spot-gloss-even-on-those-sweat-drops paperback with art cards from my website, which i mail out like it the pics (shipping cost not small, copies limited)

2) the not shiny but still very pretty UK paperback from any UK store that ships internationally, though i recommend Blackwells because they do free international shipping! and they’ve just restocked for the third time, so get in quick before they run out again again

i’ve been sick all month so only just now getting around to saying “yay, In Your Court is out in Australia now!” so i decided to do something a bit fun and silly to celebrate, and have picked some of the words Miles has to learn from Matteo to share with y’all, since more than one person has asked me what the word “capsicum” sounds like spoken

for UK folks, today is the last day to get the ebook for cheap, for North American folks, you can get the UK paperback from Blackwells with free shipping or a pretty signed one with art cards from my website, but there’s currently no US/Canadian release for which i’m endlessly sad and sorry 😫

First of all: 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮 „𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦“ 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬… 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵! 👀

as someone who used to play tennis, this book felt particularly special to me. it’s like a warm hug and the perfect read for a slow weekend, curled up on the couch under a blanket. ☕️ 📖

mat and miles had me hooked from the very beginning. between their hilarious text messages, undeniable chemistry, secret encounters, steamy scenes and incredibly sweet, heartfelt moments, i was completely caught up in their story.

told entirely from mat’s pov, we get a glimpse into his deeply insecure personality, while miles gets to surprise us through his actions. following them as they navigate getting to know each other, their shared past, complicated parent-child relationships and prejudice in the world of sports was such a lovely experience. they put each other and their feelings first, grow together and learn so much from one another. they complement each other in all the right ways.
even though the ending was a little cliché and i could see it coming, i honestly wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. it made the whole story feel like an even tighter hug and reminded me that romance is far from dead. sometimes, a book doesn’t need drama, toxicity or endless plot twists to completely sweep you off your feet. sometimes, all it takes is two people falling in love. 🥹🤎

a huge thank you to @nanyreads_ for recommending this book to me and to @kithaley.romance for writing such a beautiful story. i especially loved all the australian references and anecdotes. we read so many books set in the us and uk that getting a glimpse into australia felt incredibly refreshing. my heart has always had a soft spot for australia and new zealand, so this was such a lovely bonus. 🧡

Australian Matteo Russo is the first and only openly gay tennis pro.

He was once a brilliant junior with a bright future, until a freak accident derailed his career. Now, Mat’s fed up, struggling to qualify for tournaments and not sure he can afford dinner tonight.
