Bambi is ready for her forever home 💚 (as much as i don’t want to let her go).
this sooky sweetheart started out as the feistiest diva who would hiss and spit whenever I came near her. at only a few hundred grams, she was severely malnourished, flea-ridden, and her eyes were so gunky she couldn’t see a thing! she hated my guts for wrestling her into a flea bath and medicating her every day. and she knew how to hold a grudge! i was her least favourite person in the house for weeks.
fast forward to now - she’s bounding around the house, wrestling the cats, and dominating the dog. she twirls and squeaks and follows you around ever so curiously. she goes crazy for her toys, and purrs like no tomorrow when you let her cuddle up next to you. she’ll wake you up with kisses and wants to be the centre of attention.
i already want to cry writing this - Bambi reminds me so much of Simba and has reinforced why I started doing this in the first place. Whoever gets to love you forever Bambi will be the luckiest person i know! Simba. my sweet boy.

This is the post I dreaded making.

Simba; the most special soul I’ve ever come across, in 700 animals rescued.
I let Simba go last week, after a long battle with kidney failure. he was so brave.

This was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. The timing was impossible. Nothing felt right. My heart has been ripped out of my chest. I don’t have any tears left.

Simba had so much love to give, to everyone that visited. He was the most wonderful foster dad that raised hundreds of kittens. if you’ve adopted a kitten from me, they were raised by Simba & I. When I rescued my dog Motley, Simba & him became the best of friends. Motley and I have been out adventuring all day everyday since, because boy is he sad. we’ve been to the beach about 700 times, we’ve even planted a flower garden. Motley looks for Simba in every cupboard & under every blanket. my heart aches for my boys.

I’ll never forget when Paige & I rescued his litter, 5 years ago. They all came in feral as ever, except Simba; a total sook from the moment I picked him up. I fell in love with him instantly. I tried not to, I even almost adopted him out. But he was meant to be my best friend. He is the reason TKS exists.

I’ve only ever said goodbye to special needs pets, knowing I could give them the time they deserved. It was always limited.
But I thought Simba would be with me for another decade.

I can’t believe I’ll never squeeze you again or kiss your little face a million times over when I get home baby. I think i’ll keep rescuing animals for the rest of my life & it will all be because of you, my angel boy. TKS is your face and now your legacy.

thank you, to everyone that loved Simba as I did, especially in his last moments. It meant the world to me. He enjoyed all the cuddles & whipped cream and bacon & everything he adored. I could yap on forever about how much he meant to me, but I’ll leave it at thank you. 🫶🏻

if you have room in your heart, maybe you’ll find your best friend in one of the beautiful babies I have up for adoption. the last little ones Simba & I will ever raise together. 💔

how lucky am I to have had something that makes saying goodbye this hard.

so we’ve been a little quiet here… I’ve been taking a well needed break from rescue the past nearly 6 months, aside from some emergency care here and there. but we have six tiny little friends that you’ll be seeing a whole lot more of now! 🫶🏻 Thanks to the kids at @futurevetkidscamp for helping me pick a theme for their names - what do you think I went with? 👱🏼‍♀️ by @kitten.sanctuary

Today’s the day! 📝🐾💞Future Vets Kids Camp Australia, you’ve got my bestie Quinn & I coming to chat to you about all things animal rescue - our organisation, how and why we started it, neonatal animal care, and more. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year. We’re so looking forward to being back and we’re beyond lucky to get to be apart of your journey, future vets! Help us find Burrata a home!

Resident sweetheart Burrata is made up entirely of divine purrs and gorgeous fluffiness. She can be a little shy with strangers, but warms up quickly and wants nothing more than to cozy up to you all day long. She’d love to be your work from home pal or companion to your existing cat that maybe needs a mini-me to follow in their footsteps! She’d make a great addition to any family, as she loves kids, cats, dogs, as long as she’s getting plenty of attention she’s more than happy and she’ll reward you with all the purrs in the world. This gorgeous little girl is so ready to be loved by you!
