If you are wishing to see our beautiful Obscuratorium before it closes, please join us for a glass of prosecco at the Finissage on the last day. Sunday 4th May, 12pm to 4pm, in the Gallery at Gasworks Arts Park, 21 Graham Street, Albert Park. Enter through the metal leaf gate and past the cafe into the main building. For those who have purchased, you may pick up your artworks from 3.30pm. Bring with you something obscure......Kitty Calvert’s next project is a large interactive steel sculpture in the shape of a stack of vintage books in red and gold, to be installed in Gasworks Arts Park towards the end of May. We would love it if you would bring something unique (smaller than a wine bottle) to the Finissage, which will be interred under the sculpture at the time of installation. Thanks to @gasworksartspark and @nickmanuell we have a stunning video and stills of us working in our studio. If you would like to see the piece we created for the Renewal show and the superb works of our fellow resident artists, the exhibition is open 9.30-4.30pm daily at Gasworks in the theatre and galleries. Or you might like to join us for Champagne Storytime with Kitty on Saturday 24th 12 noon to 3pm. With stories around 2pm. ✨ Step inside the imaginative world and hidden studio of @kittycalvert at Gasworks Creative Precinct. 🎨

Melbourne-based artists Julia Brampton and Phill Calvert transform vintage treasures and found objects into playful assemblage sculptures rich with memory, character and imagination.

Check out their new exhibition, WORN: Wearable and Unwearable Objects, which explores adornment, identity and transformation through a collection of intriguing works that blur the line between jewellery, artefact and sculpture. Keep an eye out for the whimsical ‘Beasts of Adornment’ handmade papier-mâché sculptures inspired by a creative workshop the artists attended in Italy.

Only one more sleep till our exhibition opens. Gasworks will be pumping tomorrow eve. Artist chit chat at 7.15. The bar 🍷 will be open, The Jerk (food truck) will be there and if you want to make a night of it and add in some some additional culture, you can book tix to a fabulous magic show called Magic Hunt on at 7pm or queer, punk, epic Butterflies on the Wheel at 9pm.
