POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Started a new series of very small real/unreal interiors, all 6”x6” oil on gessoed Masonite. I’ll post them as they go, by the end I should have built a nice dollhouse of memory spaces. Just passing through.

Dining room on a bright morning. Oil on board, 12” x 12”. Entering a social space when it’s not in use feels compelling in its own way I think.

The distance of home fields. Even while I’m actually here, every familiarity remains pushed to the horizon.

Thank you @pamelamurphystudio for another lovely visit to your farm and studio in Door County, Wisconsin. Inspired by @andrew.cranston we dipped into distemper and raw pigments and found some new inspiration. I can’t wait to keep exploring this. Thanks, Pam!

Sensing something in this shepherd. I keep thinking I’ll make a proper landscape but I don’t want to disrupt whatever he’s noticed. Backgrounds go blurry when I’m tuning into something too. I’ll wait.

Two works. One painter. Both asking the same question — what remains of a place when time and feeling have moved through it?
Kristin O'Callaghan works in oil and encaustic, building surfaces where houses dissolve into warmth and light, where the wax holds memory the way memory actually works — present, luminous, and slightly beyond reach. Silver House and Still Alive in My Memory are both on view in Summer Love.
Come to the opening this Saturday, June 20 — doors open at 11, reception starts at 4. We are so happy to have Kitty as part of our team and our show. ✨
On view through July 25, Saturdays 11–4.
DM to inquire.

A leaning woman in wax. Abstract but fully there for me. Just 3x2 inches. #encaustic #abstractpainting by @kittyocallaghan_art

Spent the morning hanging my work for an upcoming exhibition with @paulmichaeltreacy at the @larchmontpubliclibrary. Paul is showing his large abstract paintings alongside my constellation of little vignettes. All creatures great and small keep things balanced.

Unsettled by drastically changing weather systems, both outside and inside of where we live, even the ground can feel charged. For this 10x10 oil on panel, the colors made it so.

Thinking of rabbits today. This one leaping to survive. May you be so lucky in your near misses.
