We had the incredible opportunity to visit the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation and learn more about the lives and work of Josef and Anni Albers.

One of the highlights was getting a closer look at works from the Foundation’s collection, including Josef’s sketches and studies, along with Anni’s beautiful textile works and designs. Seeing these pieces up close gave us a special glimpse into their creative processes.

Such an inspiring and memorable experience! A huge thank you to Fritz Horstman for the wonderful tour and to the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation for welcoming us! 🤍

Two works. One painter. Both asking the same question — what remains of a place when time and feeling have moved through it?
Kristin O'Callaghan works in oil and encaustic, building surfaces where houses dissolve into warmth and light, where the wax holds memory the way memory actually works — present, luminous, and slightly beyond reach. Silver House and Still Alive in My Memory are both on view in Summer Love.
Come to the opening this Saturday, June 20 — doors open at 11, reception starts at 4. We are so happy to have Kitty as part of our team and our show. ✨
On view through July 25, Saturdays 11–4.
DM to inquire.

On view and available at Arbor Gallery in our Surroundings group exhibition now thru July 31:

Kitty O’Callaghan
Japanese Maple in Sunlight
Oil pastel on paper
11.75 x 8.75 inches

Curator’s Note: Margaret Ryan’s Dandelion piece elevates a common weed, showcasing the elegance of each part through her expressive, painterly brushstrokes. I appreciate that she emphasizes the closed-up flowers caught between blooming and seeding—an unexpected detail that carries so much charm. I also love the little pop of sky reflected on the ground.

DM for special viewings and links to the exhibition page with artist details.

Arbor Gallery is conveniently located in the heart of the Hudson Valley in Carmel, NY.

And among these darkling days, you breathe. For you, my today and my tomorrow, my sweet flames of hope, my fire upon an ever-shadowed breeze. To carry you with me, the beacon to my dreams with the contemporary American artist.
