Completed the house on Consider the Lilies (another sampler September goal). I love this pattern so much. I didn’t meet all my Sept goals, which were admittedly lofty, but enjoyed working on each of the samplers. Time to move on to my Halloween stitching! Bonus pic on June, my stitching companion. 🐈‍⬛

Another #samplerseptember finish! This is Anna Ohman by Lila’s Studio. I love the floss color and variegation on this one (Used Brick by CC). Stitched on 36 ct flax.

As long as I had my ironing board out, I’m preparing a bunch of smalls I want to finish into pillows. We’ll see how far I get!

Completed Mary Overton 1850 by #LittleRobinDesigns. I’m a sucker for sampler kitties. This was stitched on 32 ct Blue Whisper linen with the called for colors. My goal for #SamplerSeptember was to finish half of this, but once I started, I couldn’t stop! I probably won’t meet all my goals, as they were fairly lofty. But I’m really loving this little guy.

If you do this pattern, please note that the majority of the cat is stitched in CC onion skin. I believe the dye lot has changed and it’s quite a bit of a darker beige than shown on the photo. @ritaminamyer is also working on this design and her kitten is lighter like the chart photo, if you’d like to see the comparison.

My master bath has been overtaken by 6 adorable foster kittens. They are here to grow a bit and gain some weight before they go up for adoption. They are rescues, so some of them are still learning to trust humans. We are going slow and they are coming along wonderfully. Their purr decibel levels may break records. 💕🥰🐱

I’m a little late getting my September sampler goals together, but here they are. Many are already in progress.
1. New start - Mary Overton (aiming for 50%)
2. Complete another row on Past & Present
3. Complete Anna Ohman
5. Add house on Consider the Lilies
5. Halloween start - Autumn Alphabet (complete 50%)

my goals are a bit lofty, and if you scroll all the way to the last photo, you’ll see that I have just added on some additional responsibilities for the month (6 of them, actually)! Wish me luck! 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

Making progress on Consider the Lilies. One of my y goals for #SamplerSeptember is to reach 25% completion (currently at around 15%).

I did change up one of the larger trees, using Crossed Broad Diagonal stitches and changing the shape of the tree. Next up is the brick house, which should be fun!

I stitched this map of Australia back in the spring of 2023. Not long after I completed it, a friend reached out to me who wanted to take a summer trip and asked if by chance I would like to travel with her to Australia? Of course I was thrilled! This pattern is by Heritage crafts. I had to order mine directly from the UK. They also had maps of Ireland and Scotland, among others. When I looked them up today with a thought of getting a Scottish map (in the hopes it would elicit an invitation for a journey to Scotland!), I noticed they appear to be out of print (though there were some charts on eBay).

It was a very detailed stitch, with tons of outlining, half and quarter stitches. I hung it on the wall next to an embroidered kookaburra, which I had picked up at an art shop in the Rocks in Sydney on an earlier trip, and some needle point rabbits which I bought in a thrift shop over 20 years ago (scroll left).

Our trip was amazing and I think of it every time I look at this hanging on the wall.

I finished the bottom section of Past and Present by Rosewood Manor! I saw the finished piece displayed at the Silver Needle in Tulsa during a road trip a few years ago, and was so taken by it I had to buy the pattern (scroll left to see the completed piece). I pick it up every few weeks to work on a section.

I realized I never shared this finish from earlier in the year (April)! This is ANZAK from Long Dog Samplers. I stitched it on 32 count linen using two colors of Sulky threads. I consider Australia a second home of sorts, though I live in Kansas. I’ve made six trips there over the years, and have a number of close friends there. My favorite place is Uluru / Kata Tjuta. It’s such a phenomenally beautiful country. These colors reminded me of the outback. by @kittyoplenty
