I am humbled by the influx of support and personal stories shared on my last post. Thank you for sharing your truth. Patriarchal conditioning is a disease that harms both men and women. It’s time to take back our power.

If you’re surprised by the absolute rage of women on social media regarding the wrist slaps given to the Cornell 7, this may help explain it. Male on female violence is an epidemic, and always has been. It’s time for men, and our leaders, to stop looking away.

Of course I had to make a Jimothy pie. Grateful for his adorable meme bombs. Just what we needed during this never ending summer of crazy heat. He will be a cherry pie when he comes out of the oven. Lil’ cutie.

Yesterday, the Kansas GOP passed a law that immediately invalidates drivers licenses and birth certificates for trans individuals. This is cruelty, plain and simple.

I don’t think I’ve ever made a pie about economic policies. 🤔

Right now we are living through a dark chapter in history.

It can be hard to face each day. But you know what gives me hope?

I look at the thousands in Minnesota, risking their lives to protect their neighbors. I look at the millions across the country showing up, protesting and speaking their truth. I look at our allies around the world - Denmark, France, Canada, Australia and so many others - marching, speaking out, pulling for us:

And I feel something I’ve never felt before. I feel part of an enormous global community moved by compassion and truth.

The energy of this movement pulses like a heartbeat.

And when I feel that, I know we will win.

They have the oligarchs, the media monopolies and the levers of power.

But we have the sheer numbers on our side, the unity and passion, and most importantly, we have love.

And the force of that love is what will save us.

Hate is a house built on sand. Love is a tidal wave.

Love always wins.

This seemed like a good day to make some hand pies. The crust is *delicate* and *flaky*, and they are covered in tiny *snowflakes*. So good they should be *illegal*.

ANNOUNCEMENT

I wanted to let local folks know that I have made the decision to close my home bakery, Pie Goddess. I want to thank you all for your support over the past five years. I swear I had the best and kindest customers. This was always a small side business for me, which I did in addition to full-time work. It was a fun ride, but I’m ready to focus my energy into something new. Thank you all. ❤️❤️

PS - I will continue designing and sharing pies for fun on Instagram, but will no longer be selling them. by @pie_goddess
