[ #NARUTOOC : Family ] (KojiKiyo) [Caption 1/1] For Kiyouka and Koji, becoming parents was a quiet and overwhelming experience in itself. A child was not necessary to bring them closer, to save their relationship, or to even make them feel like a family. Their child was not planned, but he was more than wanted. However, having children had never been a simple possibility for them. After disowning Kiyo, the Hyūga clan had forbidden her from having children because they refused to allow the Byakugan to be passed down to a bloodline outside the clan. To them, the thought of their Kekkei Genkai being inherited by someone who would not belong to the Hyūga was unacceptable. Their fragile non-aggression agreement with the Hyūga eventually came to an end when the clan attempted to assassinate Kiyouka. After that, both she and Koji came to the conclusion that they owed the Hyūga nothing anymore. There was no reason to continue honoring an agreement with people who had already broken it. Koji made his position clear, threatening the clan and warning them never to come near his wife again. When Kiyouka discovered she was pregnant, it was both a moment of overwhelming joy and a shock. The child they had been forbidden to have was finally on his way, and the realization was almost surreal. Yet, happiness was accompanied by an intense fear of the future. Kiyouka constantly worried about what the Hyūga might do if they discovered the child had inherited her Byakugan. Would they attempt to take him away from them? Having already experienced their cruelty firsthand, she could not help but fear that her son might become another target. Koji, meanwhile, worried about Kiyouka just as much as she worried about their baby. He knew how deeply the threat of the Hyūga affected her, and he did his best to keep her from going through that stress alone. He wanted her to enjoy her pregnancy and the life they were building together, even if he understood that simply telling her not to worry would never be enough. 🧶 {Kojikiyo: Paths Crossed} Hey everyone! This is a softer, more conceptual piece imagining Koji and Kiyo at around 14–15 years old. Just a little “what if?” — because, canonically, they wouldn’t actually meet until they were 22, around the founding of Konoha. I just love imagining how they might have been with each other if they had met earlier haha If they had met at this age, I think their bond would have been incredibly sweet. Kiyo was a very quiet and insecure child/teenager because of everything she went through within the Hyūga clan. Despite being kind and intelligent, trusting people didn’t come easily to her, and opening up was even harder Koji, on the other hand, grew up surrounded by a loving family. He was curious, playful, and good-natured. He wasn’t the best with words, but he had a natural way of making people feel comfortable around him I imagine they would have been such a perfect duo. Koji could be the person who helped Kiyo come out of her shell with nothing more than a silly joke or a playful comment, while also giving her a little support when things at home became difficult And Kiyo could be a warm and comforting presence for him — someone who never demanded long or difficult conversations from him. || KojiKiyo - First Impressions || (Founding Era) 🐈‍⬛🎐 At first, Kiyouka found Koji difficult to read. He barely spoke, avoided conversation whenever possible, and answered even the simplest questions with short, almost dismissive replies. Their first mission together left her slightly embarrassed after her attempts to make conversation were met with cold indifference. She quietly assumed he simply didn’t enjoy her company—or perhaps wasn’t particularly fond of people in general. Her opinion changed the moment he threw himself in front of her without a second thought to shield her from an attack. After she treated his injuries, the distant Uchiha she’d met seemed almost embarrassed by his earlier behavior, apologizing more than once and making a genuine effort to be kinder to her. Seeing that gentle, considerate side of him made Kiyouka realize there was far more to Koji than his cold exterior. And, though she’d never admit it so easily... it certainly didn’t hurt that he was a very handsome man. On the other hand, Koji had never really cared about Kiyouka before their first mission, he only knew her from afar— by appearance and rumours. He heard that she was a kind soul and warm to people; probably the strongest medic ninja of her era next to the Hokage’s wife; someone who’s technically unreachable. During their first mission, he tried to keep himself distant, just like he always did, but that didn’t stop her from getting closer; which was frustrating. She seemed stubborn and intrusive at first; but later he understood, it was just her trying to get along with him. And as time passed by, he started noticing that what was said about her was not just rumours. #ɴᴀʀᴜᴛᴏᴏᴄ || 𝐊𝐨𝐣𝐢𝐊𝐢𝐲𝐨 || (𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐫𝐚) Koji isn’t the most affectionate man in Konoha—far from it. He can be seen as arrogant, insensitive, and overly direct during conversations. Which explains why people often have trouble putting up with him. Perhaps that’s also why when he became romantically involved it was pretty surprising for those around. Mainly because he ended up falling for his total opposite. Kiyouka is elegant, well-mannered, soft-speaking and kind, a woman who also knows how to hide her games— her intelligence is undeniable, and so is her beauty. How could it be conventional for a commoner from the Uchiha clan and a noblewoman from the Hyuga main family to be together? Surprisingly, even if that wouldn’t be conventional to some, their relationship couldn’t make more sense to them. Their couple dynamic was seen as quite progressive for their time — there was no power imbalance, nor any obligation to anyone. Their relationship is defined by unwavering affection, mutual care, and absolute trust. Around everyone else, Koji is reserved, stoic, and difficult to approach, but with Kiyouka he is openly loving, clingy, and surprisingly soft—she is the one of the few people who ever gets to see that side of him. In return, Kiyouka embraces him with the same warmth, patience, and tenderness, making him feel safe enough to lower every wall he’s ever built. ✧ EIGHT TRIGRAMS: 128 PETALS ✧ Kiyo has always loved classical dance. Something so delicate and innocent would never be perceived as a threat — perhaps that was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of it. So she transformed that passion into one of the deadliest techniques in her arsenal, drawing inspiration from the Hyūga Clan’s Eight Trigrams techniques, which she had studied countless times with unwavering attention, despite never having been taught them herself. When she begins to dance, few shinobi recognize it as the opening sequence of a lethal Gentle Fist technique. To an unsuspecting enemy, it appears to be nothing more than a mesmerizing performance — elegant, graceful, almost hypnotic. The perfect ambush. This technique is performed in perfect synchronization with Ran, Kiyo’s Orchid Praying Mantis summon. Much like Lady Katsuyu, Ran can alter her size depending on Kiyo’s needs. Because this jutsu relies heavily on Ran’s participation, she manifests in a much larger form, dancing alongside her summoner. As they move together, Ran releases countless orchid petals into the air. Using their combined Wind Release, Kiyo and Ran manipulate the petals with extraordinary precision, sharpening each one into razor-thin blades and accelerating them across the battlefield. Every petal is carefully guided toward the opponent’s chakra points in a pattern inspired by the Hyūga’s Gentle Fist, allowing the attack to strike from every direction at once. Upon impact, the petals slice through the enemy’s chakra points, disrupting the flow of chakra with surgical precision. ✧ KIYOUKA & RAN — THE ORCHID MANTIS ✧ Every summon reflects something about its master, and Ran is no exception. Kiyouka's contract is with the Orchid Mantis (Hymenopus coronatus), a species whose fighting style revolves around precision, patience, and deception rather than brute force. Together, they specialize in highly refined Wind Release techniques, delivering swift, surgical strikes with remarkable accuracy. The choice wasn't random. At first glance, the orchid mantis appears delicate, elegant, almost flower-like. But beneath that beauty lies a relentless predator. Instead of chasing its prey, it waits. It deceives. It turns appearance itself into a weapon. Its mimicry is so convincing that studies have shown pollinating insects are often more attracted to orchid mantises than to actual flowers. What seems harmless is, in reality, the greatest danger. That duality perfectly mirrors Kiyouka. Throughout her life, Kiyouka allowed the Hyūga elders to see exactly what they wanted: a gentle, obedient young woman, easy to manipulate and abuse. While they dismissed her as fragile, she quietly observed, planned, and waited. When the opportunity finally came, she lured them into a carefully orchestrated ambush and eliminated them before they ever realized they had been deceived. Like the orchid mantis, her greatest weapon was never strength alone — it was the illusion of weakness. Another detail that made this species feel almost destined is its biology. In orchid mantises, the female is significantly larger and more imposing than the male, an unusual trait among insects that subtly echoes one of Kiyouka's central themes: her struggle against misogyny and the expectation that women should remain smaller, quieter, and less capable than the men around them. [#NARUTOOC: Sazanami and Kiyouka first Meeting] (Founding Era) One day, while gathering herbs for medicinal teas deep in the woods, Kiyouka heard some sounds coming from afar. Curious, she followed the noise until she found a young shinobi practicing ninjutsu. She had never seen him before, so he wasn’t from her clan. The boy movements were fast and precise. Every technique looked effortless, sharp and controlled. And Even though she was afraid, she hid behind a nearby tree and watched in silence—hoping to learn. The Hyūga never allowed women to learn any form of combat training. Their purpose was clear: support others as medical ninja, or bear children. But, in secret, Kiyouka used to practice Gentle Fist techniques on her own. The abuse she suffered within the clan had taught her one thing: one day, she might have to fight back. “Who’s there?” he called out. “Come out now, before I decide to do something about it.” The little girl slowly stepped out from behind the tree, cheeks red with embarrassment and fear after being caught. Sazanami was surprised. “...What is a tiny brat like you doing out here?” Kiyouka immediately apologized. The pale eyes caught his attention: a Hyūga. Yet he had never seen a female Hyūga on a battlefield before, much less one so young. “My clan doesn’t let me train,” Kiyouka admitted quietly. “But I need to learn how to protect myself somehow.
