![[ #NARUTOOC : Family ] (KojiKiyo)
[Caption 1/1]
For Kiyouka and Koji, becoming parents was a quiet and overwhelming experience in itself. A child was not necessary to bring them closer, to save their relationship, or to even make them feel like a family. Their child was not planned, but he was more than wanted.
However, having children had never been a simple possibility for them. After disowning Kiyo, the Hyūga clan had forbidden her from having children because they refused to allow the Byakugan to be passed down to a bloodline outside the clan. To them, the thought of their Kekkei Genkai being inherited by someone who would not belong to the Hyūga was unacceptable.
Their fragile non-aggression agreement with the Hyūga eventually came to an end when the clan attempted to assassinate Kiyouka. After that, both she and Koji came to the conclusion that they owed the Hyūga nothing anymore. There was no reason to continue honoring an agreement with people who had already broken it. Koji made his position clear, threatening the clan and warning them never to come near his wife again.
When Kiyouka discovered she was pregnant, it was both a moment of overwhelming joy and a shock. The child they had been forbidden to have was finally on his way, and the realization was almost surreal. Yet, happiness was accompanied by an intense fear of the future. Kiyouka constantly worried about what the Hyūga might do if they discovered the child had inherited her Byakugan. Would they attempt to take him away from them? Having already experienced their cruelty firsthand, she could not help but fear that her son might become another target.
Koji, meanwhile, worried about Kiyouka just as much as she worried about their baby. He knew how deeply the threat of the Hyūga affected her, and he did his best to keep her from going through that stress alone. He wanted her to enjoy her pregnancy and the life they were building together, even if he understood that simply telling her not to worry would never be enough. Whatever happened, he was determined to protect both his wife and their child.

![[#NARUTOOC: Controversial Union] (Founding Era)
Kiyouka and Koji’s relationship wasn’t well received by the Hyūga clan. In fact, the elders were reluctant to see any kind of alliance between the two clans. After all, they wanted to keep the secrets of the Byakugan within their clan. Risking their secrets falling into the hands of the Uchiha clan was simply too dangerous.
As the head of the main branch, they expected Kiyouka to marry within the clan. Several elders pushed for an arranged marriage with a Hyūga nobleman, believing it would preserve both tradition and the purity of the bloodline but Kiyouka refused all proposals without hesitation. Even if they didn't know the reasons for her refusal, they knew it wasn't without significance.
Kiyouka and Koji's relationship had begun discreetly: meeting away from the public eye, nocturnal encounters, and exchanging a few glances and delicate touches from time to time. After all, what people don't know can't be ruined or troubled.
Unfortunately, nothing can stay hidden for long, and their relationship was eventually discovered. But by the time the elders realized the gravity of their relationship, it was already too late. Kiyouka had made her choice. And even if they tried to get opposed to it now, it would be of no use.
The truth is that they had failed to understand that neither Kiyouka nor Koji had sought each other out for political gain. Their relationship had grown quietly and naturally through friendship, trust, and countless moments spent together before either of them acknowledged their feelings.
