NO radiotherapy is needed at the mo 🥳🙌🏼

My scan was looked at in more detail, and compared against scans across the last 6 months and the lesions previously found were nothing new. It was such a relief to hear that I won't be having radiotherapy any time soon. Back to the usual - routine scans and continue with treatment.

She's aliiiive 👻

Okay so I've been gone for a while and honestly? I needed it. I've been doing a lot of grieving, a lot of healing, a lot of figuring out the new me - and I think I'm finally ready to start sharing again 🩷

A lot of people ask me how I keep fighting and keep showing up. The real answer is me. It always has been. I do this for myself and always will 💪🏼

Let's start with gym content because that's basically my whole personality right now 🙌🏼

If you're still here, I appreciate you 🙏🏼 by @kizzsandhu

Lung cancer is rising in young, non-smoking women. 📈

Yet, too many young women face misdiagnosis and delays, simply because lung cancer isn’t expected in people their age.

Clair, Hayley, Harriet, Kizz, Becky, Stacy, Jade, and Emma were all diagnosed with stage 4 ALK+ lung cancer in their 20s, 30s, or early 40s.

📢 Research shows lung cancer incidence in younger women is now surpassing that of men in multiple countries (Jemal et al., NEJM, 2018).

ALK+ disproportionately affects women under the age of 50, presenting unique challenges such as delayed diagnosis and the emotional and physical toll of navigating lung cancer during some of the most active years of their lives.

This International Women’s Day, let’s make lung cancer in young, non-smoking women part of the conversation.

HUGE thanks 🙏 to Clair, Hayley, Harriet, Kizz, Becky, Stacy, Jade, and Emma for sharing their stories.

After CyberKnife radiotherapy, one of the hardest things for me was losing my long, thick hair.

For a while I didn’t recognise the girl in the mirror.

But after two years of healing, patience and growth, my hair is finally healthy, strong and back.

This isn’t just hair.

It’s strength.
It’s survival.
It’s proof of everything I’ve fought through.

Still that girl.
Still that b.
Still slaying. ✨

I’ve been quiet for a while; not because things have been easy, but because I’ve been coming to terms with just how much has changed.

Since starting one of the hardest treatments for my ALK+ lung cancer, life has changed in ways I didn't want to admit.
This treatment protects my brain, but it comes with heavy side effects. It’s been tough at times, but I’ve kept going - with resilience and hope.

These are just some of the side effects I’ve been tackling, each one affecting me in different ways:

1. Physical changes
• Gaining over 30% of my body weight
• Going up several clothing sizes
• Losing confidence in how I look and feel

2. Hair loss and regrowth
• Losing hair after brain radiotherapy
• Adjusting to changes in how my hair grew back

3. Cognitive struggles
• Blank moments mid-conversation
• Forgetting words or struggling to speak

4. Emotional challenges
• Feeling overwhelmed or emotions out of proportion

I didn’t want to believe how much this was affecting me.
So I did what I could:
• I go to the gym to feel stronger and more like myself
• I use tools and strategies to help with memory and focus
• I try to carry on, to stay in control & to keep going

But life hasn’t been easy to keep up with.
And the truth is... you can’t just keep treading water forever.
Eventually, I had to stop pretending I was okay.
This year, I finally opened up to my oncologist and that honesty has helped.

We’re now exploring ways to manage the side effects - especially the weight gain, which has impacted me the most.
I’m grateful this treatment is still working for me, I’m still here.

I’ve had to grieve the “old me”, but I’ve learned to keep moving forward with hope.
It’s bittersweet. Survival doesn’t always feel like living, but I’m doing my best to reclaim myself.

Acknowledging everything has been a turning point.
✨ Healing isn’t linear, and I’m doing it on my own damn terms. If you’re carrying more than people can see - rest, recover, and do you.

RIP Nanaji
6th Feb 1938 – 30th March 2025 🕊️

Just weeks ago, we wandered through India together - laughing, learning, remembering. Our time in India was a gift.
You showed me your world, your stories, your strength.
Three unforgettable weeks I’ll treasure for a lifetime.

I finally got to hear all about your journey - your childhood, your move to England, and the strength, courage, and determination that shaped the man you became. You opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on life.

You returned to the light,
but your love stays with us - quiet, steady, eternal.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for us.
Gone, but never ever forgotten. I’ll miss you always.
🤍

A poem from me to you:-
You held my hand through stories of your youth,
showed me where it all began
the soil that shaped your strength,
the roads that carried your dreams.

In just three weeks,
you gave me a lifetime
of memories, wisdom,
and love without end.

You taught me that courage isn’t loud,
it’s quiet resilience,
it’s kindness passed down through generations,
it’s never giving up.

Now you return to the light,
but your spirit stays
in every lesson,
every prayer,
every part of who I am.

I’ll carry you with me, always.
Not just in memory,
but in the way I live,
the way I love.

Forever missed.
Forever loved.
Forever with me.

I realized my coping mechanism is to stay busy with life and I've been trying to stick to gyming 4 times a week again.

I changed gyms recently and wanted a better atmosphere to train in.
My new chosen gym: @foundrygymcoventry - pure vibes 🩷
My early mornings don't feel like such a struggle anymore 🥳

The most blessed news of the month:
🌟 my routine head and chest scans are stable 🙌🏼
This is something I never take for granted, and I feel so blessed.

I’m currently preparing for a lifetime trip to India with my Nani and Nana. This will be one special journey and I feel so lucky to be able to share these meaningful moments with them.

Here’s to more milestones, memories, and motivation 🥰
I can't wait to share my India trip with you all once I'm back 🧡 taken in Foundry Gym Coventry by @kizzsandhu
