Join us here anytime, but especially on Thursday evening, June 25th for a Singing Resistance themed song circle!

Singing Resistance is building a mass movement of singers to protect and care for our communities in the face of rising authoritarianism. Inspired by awesome resistance in Minneapolis and grounded in love, nonviolence, and solidarity, groups all over the
country are sharing songs at protests, marches, and other creative actions.

On Thursday evening, June 25th supported by song leaders from the PNW, Bay Area and Midwest, we will share songs on these themes, inviting y'all to join and share favorite songs from your resistance community.

Many of our Cascadia Song Rise collaborators are involved in their local Singing Resistance movements. Liberation is a collective endeavor and we invite everyone to this dynamic fireside song share. Let’s learn each other’s songs and continue to carry them far and wide for the benefit of all beings🦋 Our love for each other will carry us through!

The world’s beauty holds a profound, restorative power. It serves as an anchor in times of distress, a universal necessity for both physical and spiritual strength, and a catalyst for purifying the scattered and overstimulated mind.

Botanist and author Robin Wall Kimmerer views beauty not just as an aesthetic trait, but as an active, ecological dialogue that demands reciprocity.

Led by Kjersten Hallin, and with primary support by Joyelle Petersen and Indigo deGaia, Cascadia Song Rise engages a team of Beauty Activists who attend to the spirit of the gathering by creating gorgeous altars and flower bouquets, decorating all the tents and pavilions, providing aesthetic elements for communal spaces, interactive art projects and installations, painting signs, hand drawing maps and schedules, and tending to the energetic gatekeeping for unseen realms.

Our beloved ancestor and mentor in grief ritual lineage, Sobonfu Somé, tells us that “Spirit Eats Beauty”. Martín Prechtel also encourages us to create revolutionary beauty, to continue relationships with those we’ve loved and lost.

Creating, sharing, and experiencing beauty feeds the human spirit and soul. It blends inner and outer well-being, where a nurtured spirit transforms how we perceive and appreciate the beauty in our lives, nature, and community.

We could all use a little more re-animation in our lives!
Our songs and rituals, music, dance, storytelling and shared meals are an integral part of the Beauty Activism of Song Rise. This is how we engage in reciprocity with the living world!

Don’t wait until the last minute! To increase our sense of belonging, we intentionally limit registration numbers, which allows space for deeper and more authentic connections. Honoring the Hearth: Meet Kjersten Hallin 🌿✨

If Cascadia Song Rise has a heartbeat, it sounds a lot like the songs of Kjersten Hallin (She/They).

As a "Co-Creatrix" of our gathering, Kjersten doesn't just lead songs—she weaves them. A Beauty Activist, Ritualist, and "Wasterument" maker, she treats singing as a way to re-animate the village and reclaim our connection to the Earth.

Kjersten’s original songs are multi-layered, percussive, and deep. She specializes in finding "micro-joy in the midst of macro-grief," helping us balance the light and dark while we activate our collective voice.

Kjersten invites us to:

✨ Practice word magic for a healthier world
✨ Layer harmonies that bridge past and future

We are so grateful for her vision and the "CommUnity BlesSings" she brings to the Willamette Valley and beyond.
