It is a memorial, a testament, and a promise to the children of PaIestine, and all the suffering world. The broken shards represent demolition, displacement, and epistemicide everywhere on Earth, including of Levantine culture, as in Ğaża and the West Bank; the oak trees lend their vibrant green growth to the palette, foretelling revitalization; and the candle inside the red glass lantern burns to venerate the hundreds of thousands of martyrs whom the war-hungry pariah entities have incinerated -- yet above all the flame represents the undaunted light and power of sumūd, and the divinity of the human heart, and the steadfastness of grace. The moon above shines its power to comfort us all. °•○♡○•° End all war. End ultra-capitalism, colonialism, and techno-oligarchy. No billionaires, no kings, no empires. Prosecute the Epstein class. All refugees welcome. No one is illegal on stolen land. Boycott aparŧheid. Free Marwan Barghouti, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyah, exonerate PaIestine Action and all kidnapped activists, and every disappeared PaIestinian -- all humans who are trapped must be saved. Konepaja Spoken Word #10 (October 24) GUEST HOST AND FEATURED PERFORMER: Kasper Salonen (b. 1987) is a bilingual spoken word poet, translator, educator, and visual artist. He has performed his highly rhythmic metaphysical poems, translated actively, and hosted cultural events in both English and Finnish for over 15 years. Kasper has also released two spoken word albums and three poetry collections, the most recent being a world first in poetry translation, ”Unspoken Words: Selected Poems of Arto Melleri” (Enostone, 2025). His coming publications include first-time Finnish translations from Welsh poet Dylan Thomas (Parkko Publishing, TBA). He is also working on collections and EPs of original spoken word and spell-poetry, an anthology of communal surrealist ”cadavre exquis” poems, and a book of original Finnish haiku. Kasper lives by the northern shore of lake Lippajärvi in Espoo, Southern Finland, where the forest and the city both breathe. Kasper opposes ecocide, imperialism, and techno-feudalism. Enää ei ole mahdollisuutta kenelläkään väittää, ettei tietäisi isræIin miehityksestä, kolonialismista, apartheidista ja kansanmurhasta. On vain raaka, valoittava, hirvittävä tietoisuus vääryydestä -- ja sen vastustamisen moraalisesta pakosta. Taiteilijoilla on erityinen vastuu, äänensä käyttäjinä ja suuntaajina. Häpeän kautta totuuteen. Vapaa PaIestiina, joelta merelle. Yhden valtion malli, eli suvereeni PaIestiina ilman minkäänlaista sortoa. Kuten alueella elettiinkin ennen rinta rinnan. Juutalaisuskon vakaumukset vastustavat ja kieltävät sionismin, kuten kaikki eettinen aattelu. Tuntui hyvältä olla pitkästä aikaa marssimassa, rakkaan ihmisen kanssa vieläpä. Me jaksamme marssia, älähtää ja puolustaa ihmisoikeuksia -- vaikka itsekin kärsin mm. prekaariudesta, ahdistuksesta ja epävarmuudesta. "isŕæI" on (yhtä sairaan u$a:n & €uroopan ja SUOMEN rahoittama) sairas, väkivaltainen, aivopesty yhteiskunta, joka on boikotoitava pysähdyksiin. Kansanmurha on kaikkien rikoksien rikos, ja kaiken kolonialismin on loputtava HETI myös Sudanissa, Kongossa, Haitissa, Kuubassa, Sápmissa ja kaikkialla muuallakin. Alkuperäisväestöjen ymmärryksen on annettava kukoistaa ja toimia, ja viitoittaa tietä todelliseen vapautumiseen. Luonnon voimin, luontomme voimin. Tuntuu typerältä toistaa itseään vuodesta toiseen, mutta ikinä en lakkaa edustamasta ihmisyyttä ja objektiivista oikeutta. Haluan myös oppia mm. rasisteilta, päästä heidän hätänsä luokse, auttaa kaikkia irtautumaan vihasta, päästäksemme kaikki kohti kollektiivista vapautumista. Pliis auttakaa perheitä ahdingossa. (Terveiset kaikille hienoille kollegoille ja kamuille, jotka samaan aikaan Turussa messusivat. Stadissa olen itsekin kirjamessuilla ~24.10. [tarkentuu]). • Puun valinta oli tarkan keskustelun ja arvioinnin paikka. Käytössä oli hyvät välineet sekä kaimani kyvykkyys ja kokemus. Ennen kaatoa lausuin ja lauloin puulle kaksi loitsurunoa (alla <<Koivun synty>>), ihailimme häntä, kiitimme ja surimme hänen kaatamista. Niin pieneen tilaan päätyy kokonainen runko latvoineen; henkeänsä jatkamaan, takassa ja kiukaassa, ihmispolojen lämmittäjänä. • Sen lisäksi kirjoitimme sokkorunon, ja laadin monet haikut. Musisoimme, saunoimme, uimme, heitimme tikkaa ja jaoimme hilpeyttä ja hartautta syystuulen toveruudessa ^_^ (Kolme punkkia tarttui puuesineiden lisäksi mukaan, mutta palattuani armaani äkkäsi ja nappasi ne taitavasti.) • Pyhitys ja vaaliminen ovat uteliaisuuden, hoivan, ilon, sekä tietoisuuden valjastamisen seurausta; turmeleminen ja riistäminen ovat vieraantumisen, trauman, pelon, sekä tietoisuuden sokeuttamisen seurausta. Tämän tunteellisen ja tarkkasilmäisen kronikan linssinä toimii amerikkalainen Frank Cadwallader, kyllästynyt keski-ikäinen suksimyyjä ja kveekari perheineen. Graafikko-Iiris loihti upean kannen. Kirja on painossa. • Haastattelen kirjailija-Fordia Helsingin kirjamessuilla lokakuussa. • Romaani on mukaansatempaava, hauska, liikuttava ja ajankohtainen. This poem, written in 1990 by the legendary Finnish poet Arto Melleri (1956-2005), speaks of the symbolic human affinity as well as utter disregard for the natural world, and offers a glimpse of deep time, reaching into prehistory and evolutionary genesis. The poem’s namesake, the eagle owl (Bubo bubo) is shown as an ancestor and companion spirit to the even more ancient “insects that wander in amber”. Life in this poem is still vibrant even in a beleaguered world, where “the grass shouts out” due to “havoc in the human mind” — an imbalance to be rectified. ✒️💖🗣🌳☮️🌳🗣💖✒️ Happy 70th birthday, Arto Melleri! 1956-2005 A once-in-a-lifetime moment is approaching, where the poetry of Mr. #ArtoMelleri will be showcased in a special evening in Prague in a week's time, on Sep 14th. Local Czech poets and researchers will be in attendance and on stage, performing my translations live and giving Melleri the space and laurels he deserves. No time, apparently, for any remote or on-site involvement of mine at this club as such. But I'm extremely thankful that my book, <<Unspoken Words>> (@enostone_kustannus 2025) will be the focus of such erudite attention at @l.objet_trouve. My undying gratitude goes to my poet friend @sakarihapponen for organizing this shindig while in residency, and bringing Finnish culture to mainland Europe, and highlighting A.
