In the name of the god of rainbows: Iran will be free!

This artwork is a tribute to Kian Pirfalak, a 10-year old Iranian boy from Izeh, Khuzestan province who was killed by regime forces on November 16, 2022 when his father was bringing him home from school in their car and they shot the car.

Kian wanted to be an inventor when he grew up and in one video shared online he presented a self-made miniature boat. As introduction in this video he said "In the name of the god of rainbows" 🌈

Three years later, the Pirfalak family is still being harassed and persecuted by the authorities of the Islamic Republic.

https://iranwire.com/en/features/146313-3-years-after-boys-death-in-iran-protests-family-faces-continued-persecution/

……………

During the current protests against the Islamic republic there also have been killed several kids, at least 21 according to Hengaw, from as young as only 3 years old.

A lighthouse with a sky full of stars, several of them Stars of David

“When life seems to put out every light you have, it is better to light a candle than to complain about the darkness.” - Unknown

So have this extra big "candle", let it shine for you and maybe take a bit of the beam for yourself.

@/chanukah-challenge on tumblr.com had the prompt Day 1: Darkness/ Light and I made this.

Despite it all, I'm wishing a bright happy Chanukka to everyone who celebrates!

Quelle: https://www.gesetze-bayern.de/Content/Document/BayMeldDV-18
.
Also alle unterschreiben und teilen bitte! 🏳️‍⚧️✊️
.

On 2 June 2025 (as any year) was International Seggs Workers Pride Day! ☂️❤️
.
It's the anniversary of the church occupation and strike in Lyon St. Nizier (France) in 1975 when more than 100 seggs workers and allies occupied it for 8 days in order to protest mostly against (police) violence and discrimination but also against stigma, oppression and criminalization of seggs work. Still their actual request wasn't decriminalization but instead "Égalité, Liberté, Fraternité" (Equality, Freedom, Brotherhood/ Sisterhood) the slogan of the French Revolution.
.
50 years later this fight isn't over yet! Seggs work is still criminalized in most countries worldwide by either prohibiting all aspects of it or for example by client criminalization which is often promoted as a "progressive model to help seggs workers" (also known under "Nordic Model"). In fact, this isn't progressive at all as it not only furthers the stigma seggs workers experience but also leads to eviction from homes, deportations of migrants, more police controls and violence (the opposite of ACAB kinda), forbids collaborative working and other discriminations which in total produce very unsafe working conditions.
.
The only country with full decriminalization of seggswork is Belgium where it was introduced in 2022 and now grants seggsworkers full workers rights such as health insurance, paid vacation and sick days, retirement pensions etc.
.
In New Zealand seggswork is decriminalized if the seggsworker has NZ citizenship.
.
Therefore: Rights not rescue! Only rights can stop the wrongs! Decriminalization now! ✊️
.
For more info you can check out the website of the European Seggs Workers' Rights Alliance https://eswalliance.org @eswalliance @sexworkeurope
.
The flag above was created by seggs work activist Jason Domino in 2019.

The Mermaid Wife 🧜‍♀️🦭🌊 – illustration for the first prompt of #OnceUponATimeMonth25
.
So I'm really late with sharing this pic but anyway I made an effort (cause I wanted to!) and did a little illustration of the folktale The Mermaid Wife.
.
This is an old story from Scotland about a mermaid whose seal skin was stolen from her while on a beach with her pack. Then she is no longer able to go back neither to her aquatic home nor to her mermaid and seal friends there. So she marries a human man (aka the thief) and lives with him. Years later she accidentally finds her seal skin hidden in the storage, takes it to the beach and is finally able to reunite with her seal husband that she "always loved best" and her friends in the sea again.
.
My drawing shows the moment after their reunion. <3

A digital illustration of a grey seal and a mermaid with a wavy background that gradually changes from teal on the top to dark blue at the bottom. The mermaid has light teal and shoulder length hair, wears a yellow crop top and her tail has iridescent scales with colours in teal, blue and purple. She smiles and waves with her left hand and her body is not thin on purpose. For reference, maybe she wears a size L or XL?
The mermaid and the seal are positioned side by side, with the seal on the left and the mermaid on the right. Above their heads is a pink heart.
At the bottom are two green algae plants in the left and middle, in the right is a fish resembling a clown fish.
