Clips from Copenhagen 🇩🇰 a beautiful city that gave me a taste for more of the Nordics. Thank you, Denmark!

Here are some of the things I loved:
- the way the city cycles! Not kidding, it’s a bicyclists dream - more bikes than cars and there’s no messing around in those bike lanes!
- the proud Danish notion of “hygge” (creating warmth, comfort, and togetherness) and how the city touts the cozy concept everywhere
- the canals and the way different pockets of the city are created around the water system
- the way the city loves their famous Danish author Hans Christian Andersen who first wrote the original Little Mermaid story in 1837. Fun fact, Disney’s movie Frozen was also inspired by him as Disney loosely adapted his story The Snow Queen into Frozen.
- Denmark’s royal family is among the oldest continuous monarchies in the world, and the people seem to all love their royals 👑
- the style (particularly on the men!) by @kmlemen

Mis cosas favoritas de Madrid 🇪🇸 - it was my shortest length of stay in Europe but I feel I packed a lot in during my free hours. You know the drill, here are the things I loved:

- Getting to practice my Spanish - I was amazed at both how much and how little progress I’ve made 😂
- Having lots of time in the evenings due to their LATE nights (now I’ll say I loved it as a visitor not sure about living in it all the time 😅) - The city feels alive at almost all hours & dinners don’t even start until 8 or later
- Their jamon (ham)… let’s just say it is not the same as what we eat in the states & they put it with everything. It almost flakes like jerky there.
- Patatas Aliñadas - or as I called it to my global coworkers: “potatoes and tuna”. It’s a southern Spanish-style vinegar-based potato salad of with olive oil, onions, tuna and hard-boiled eggs. Upon my return, I know my friends won’t be eager to try it, but I’m eager to make it!
- Glass bottles of Coca Cola poured over ice with lemon. I saw this in other European places but it was really prevalent in Madrid. So refreshing and a great little treat while eating outside in the hot and busy streets. by @kmlemen

Summer in Paris is a dream! Loved my time there and there’d never be enough days to explore all the city has to offer. So, I’ll just sit here grateful for the time spent and sights seen. Merci, Paris! 🇫🇷

Reflecting, here are the things I took note of that I loved:

- # 1 is simply the beauty of the architecture, full of old beautiful limestone, elegant door framing, and balconies with cast iron railings. Plus the standout buildings and structures that make the city so unique leave you in awe. It’s widespread cohesion, art and design done all over on a level I’ve not seen elsewhere.
- The enjoyment in the walkability! I preferred walking to even thinking about taking a car, which resulted in very high daily step counts. One day I even hit 44k!
- The Eiffel at night; it creates a classic magic that’s hard to explain. And there’s nothing like those first 5 min at the top of the hour where it sparkles & the whole city feels alive.
- Escargot - I know; even I was surprised! First time trying it and it was a 10/10 French experience
- The Seine and the way you get so many of the sights of Paris by the water. And the way it all lights up in such a dreamy and romantic way at night is incredible too.
- The way multitudes of people linger - in cafes on the street, or sitting at parks or along the river. I couldn’t believe the amount of people still doing this every night I turned in for bed.
- The style. Everywhere you go people are dressed fashionably, even in simple casualty. It somehow brings a level of purpose, excitement and confidence as you bustle around. I loved to observe other people’s styles in the streets.
- The city was very clean which made the stone architecture pop even more. And every morning you would see people out washing the sidewalks outside of their stores/restaurants. by @kmlemen

Stockholm 🇸🇪 (+ EE conference in PHX) - I decided that during my European adventures, I would take note of the things I love in each city. Here’s the clippings from my Notes app from leg 1:

Things I love about Stockholm:

- Fika: a Swedish ritual of an intentional pause during the day, were you sip coffee and eat a pastry without any distractions; it’s meant to be unrushed and a way to exhale in the middle of the day … and I actually saw a lot of people truly doing this, which made me love it even more!
- Real candles and candle sticks at dinner
- The way they have little blankets on all the chairs for outside dining
- The meatballs - delicious
- The fact they are home to the Nobel prize awards🏆 (all except Nobel peace prize which is in Oslo)
- Finding out Pippi Longstocking is from here
- Home of the Swedish candies, and plenty of them
