September photo dump! Managed to travel three weekends in a row for three glorious weddings. Best friends and little cousin getting married, made it on TV (kind of made it on a time square billboard or otherwise it would have been called “98 to beat” right?!) New York, Seattle, Vancouver, Princeton, and all the places in between. Life is full, God is good!

🕯What is it about candlelight and lamp light that makes it so appealing?

👉🏻Am I right?

🕯I mean people light some candles on a table or just turn on a table lamp and suddenly there seems to be a transformation of the atmosphere. All because the overhead lights are off and candles and lamps are producing a soft wash of light, so what is it exactly?

🛋I mean just thinking about this subject makes me want to cozy up on a couch and turn on my lamp with a blanket and cup of coffee and call it a day! There is something more though.

✝️In Matthew 5:14-6 Jesus is preaching on the mountain and talks about how we are lights to the world and cannot be hidden. (Matt. 5:14) Then, he uses an example of a lamp and compares us to that lamp in a house and how we can give others light to glorify God. (Matt. 15-16)

✝️🕯I love these verses because if I am being compared to a lamp as it says I have an idea of what my duty is to others.

👉🏻👦🏼My takeaway is that I am supposed to be the wonderful creation that God knit in my mother’s womb and show others how cool/ awesome God is just from being me and glorifying him. (Psalm 139:13-16)

👉🏻However….

🌎There is a world out there that does not want you to be bright. They would like to turn your light off and blow out the light that you produce for various reasons.

🧠We have to remember that we burn and show our light to glorify God!

❄️On some of the coldest and darkest days of the year people need your light that God has given you! Don’t try to blow out or turn off someone else’s light because we are all needed to produce light to glorify God, and we were all wonderfully made to praise him.

👉🏻🕯You are important and keep burning bright for those around you!

🎥🎞🎬Action packed movies set in medieval times with knights in armor, damsels in distress, goblins, gnomes, and fairies have always captivated my attention from an early age.

👦🏼I think as a boy I dreamed of having the courage to fight dragons, ogres, and superhuman beings with what looked like fearlessness in the absolute gravest and most dire of situations.

🐲I would think after the knight slayed the dragon and rescued the princess that I could totally do the same thing, and in the most crazy of situations just like the movies depicted. You know the situations where you don’t want to admit that you might actually be so scared you would have to excuse yourself from the scene because you might embarrass yourself with your bowels! Those are the scenes that I am talking about…

⛪️This week at church there was an awesome sermon from Porsha Lewis about putting on the Armor of God, and some of you might be wondering what does your introduction have to do with this drawing, and it has to do with the fact that we fight a very real enemy that wants to kill, steal, and destroy everything good in our lives. (John 10:10)

✝️We have to wear the Armor of God!

We must also be aware of our enemy and know that our enemy prowls around like a lion ready to devour us. This drawing represents the armor we have to have everyday no matter where we go or what we do, so we can resist the greatest of all enemies.

Satan.

🎥We may not have a camera catching our every move with awesome theme music in the background, but we fight a fight so great that no armor is the correct armor unless it is the Armor of God. I hope you know that with this armor you can do anything! Have a great day everyone!
