Every once in a while I like to go back through my artworks - the quick sketches to the final products. It helps me remember that I love creating things. by @kmorrilldesign

I’m prepping to teach my middle school art students how to collaboratively design and build a 9/11 memorial. This generation of young people has no direct experience with the events of that day 25 years ago.

I refuse to show video of the day. I feel like that passes the trauma down. I want them to have some context for the discussions they will be hearing this month, though.

I’m working on curating images that show some of the aftermath in ways that do not shock them or bring tears to their eyes the way it does for people with first hand memories of that day. Images of people connecting, reflecting, bowing, collaborating, surviving. Those are what I want my students to take away from their experiences in my art classes tomorrow.

I have very painful and very happy memories from that era. I hope you all find a way to grieve and love tomorrow.

I’m working on a thing. I’ll share more if I get said thing actually off the ground. I’m not building this beauty, but it will be in a world of its own. Stay tuned.

One of my projects today was cleaning out this baby fridge. I knew there were some goopy messes that water and soap wouldn’t get out so I turned to my trusty bin of shop wipes from @legitstreetcars! They did the trick!

I can never do my projects around the house or on my car without some good inspirational music. So, for that, I turned to @bouncingsoulsnj. Good music equals good outcome. And here’s the proof.

For your very own taste of inspiration, check out @legitstreetcars here and on YouTube and you can see @bouncingsoulsnj at @the_orange_peel with me and a few cool fellas on Sept 12th or on there tour near you. by @kmorrilldesign

For all who celebrate, happy National Black Cat Appreciation Day! With all the crazy going on in the world, here are some cute fuzzy baby pictures to brighten your day with a dark coat of cuteness. I’m glad I picked this ball of fur up off the side of the road a couple years ago. Little stray Buddy “Cool Cat” Stone is a cat for sure, but he’s my cat and I love him.

It was only then that Ken realized he had been converted to a cat person - or, at least - to a THIS cat person. by @kmorrilldesign

I’ve been thinking about building kiddy cars again. I thought a motor with pumping pistons and LEDs inside the cylinders to look like spark could be fun. I guess that means the engine bay needs to be a little more than 21cm long. These are gonna be some big little cars! Kids can actually ride in them and see the VERY basics for how an engine works while the car rolls.

If you have a little kid, would you buy one of these and push or pull them around in one of my cars? by @kmorrilldesign
