On a WEDNESDAY?!

Peeled myself away from the insanity that is business ownership in the summer and reminded myself why I live here. 💕

We got to sunbathe in a glacier valley and sit on pretty rocks. Plunge in little glacier pools. We listened to the glacier calve and I thought about how cool it was to be immersed in a place that had such an obvious expression of time and *feel* how old everything was.
All of the animals were out and about and it was so invigorating to see everything so alive. Bears were wandering, whales were jumping (peep the personal 9a whale show we got from our cabin), sea lions were stinkin’ up the rocks and puffins were puffin. We even got a wake up call from a big ol’ bumble bee bzzzzing in our ears at 7a - which we quickly deduced was the “holgate housekeeping” honeybees.

What I like most about these kinds of trips is how impactful 24-48 hours can be. Complete mindset shifts with so much gratitude and awe for the world we live in. taken in Holgate Glacier by @knee_cole13

Folk fest at its finest. ✨ 🪩
It’s pretty darn cool what you can accomplish in less than 24 hours and the snazziest crew.
Danced our butts off, got to spend the sunniest day in my favorite little town, attended a house party in a retro funk house with a billion dollar view, drank the best tap water in the world, discovered and am now obsessed w/ @dudemtn, listened to music that fills your cup, obligatory 3am pelmini followed by an equally obligatory 8am ride to the airport 🤪 taken in Juneau, Alaska by @knee_cole13

Some gems from a perfectly sunny 24 hours out into the woods.
Highlights include:
💠 Lu eating a pile of human waste at the trailhead and whining until 6am
💠 post-holing the entire way there & back
💠 hauling out Moose’s Tooth
💠 firing up the wood fired sauna in the middle of the day and sweating it all out
💠 most importantly; being wild and free and topless in a hammock while me and my dogs lived our best lives taken in Manitoba Cabin by @knee_cole13

@camp_runamok, a place for bartenders to exist in a little utopia filled with friends new and old, distilleries a plenty and the coolest branded events in a tiny town in Kentucky.

What even was this year?!

Felt like 10 years, also felt like 2 weeks. Time never stops being weird.

What I love most about the past 365 were all the doors that opened to allow me to travel as much as I did.
I got to go to Louisville twice, Tennessee, NYC, Portland, and freakin’ Greece to network with like minded individuals and learn a heckuva lot more than I knew in 2022 about my industry.
I got to vacation in Hawaii, Belize and Nashville and make wild memories.

I packed up, cleaned, moved out and Airbnb-ed my home all summer.

Anddddddd I started a business that continues to grow.

While nothing felt overwhelmingly difficult, it’s a lot to look back on and be grateful for.

I really love this picture because it shows where I’m at in life- showing all my teeth with the most sincere smile because I’m genuinely happy.

Things aren’t always sunshine and rainbows, old Lady girl has a mystery lump I’m pretending isn’t there and my hot water heater and boiler went out right before winter buuuuuut the good FAR outweigh the bad and I’m just so happy with the people I have in my life and what I’ve got going on.

Without going on too long of a ramble, it’s just really cool to be able to follow your passion and get rewarded for it. I’ve traveled more this year than I’ve been able to in past years, and have made such an insanely supportive and large network of friends in this industry.

I’ve been waiting impatiently for the better part of a year to camp here after stumbling upon it last fall. The weather was right and our work schedules lined up, so we boogied out to this little corner of paradise for a quick overnighter.

We sat by a fire while the clouds rolled in (slide 9), and we got to breathe in that cool, wet mountain air as they surrounded us.

Highlights include the dogs getting to run around all night and day to torment some Pikas, hiking up to a waterfall in the morning and splish- splashing around in it, and harvesting some moss at the top for some fun lil projects.

McCarthy, you beautiful beast you.

The dogs and I camped our happy selves in a little corner of paradise for the 4th, and it was simply perfect. From the people, the gobsmacking views, all the doggy freedom, aaaaand the Medium Build dance party - I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a few days.
