The more I learn about the female body, the more I’m in awe of how intentionally and beautifully we are designed. ✨
Our vulvas are not meant to look identical, they are meant to be unique. Different shapes, sizes, colors, textures, and proportions are all part of the incredible diversity of the human body. There is no single “normal” look, and comparison often comes from unrealistic images rather than real anatomy.
The first time I explored the educational resources listed at the end of this post, I was amazed by just how much more unique we are than I had ever imagined. What I thought was “variation” is actually the norm. Every vulva carries its own structure, balance, and beauty.
But beyond uniqueness, our vulvas are also designed with incredible purpose. They protect sensitive internal organs, support sexual health and sensation, allow for menstruation, and play an essential role in reproduction and birth. Every fold, layer, and function serves a role in supporting the body.
Learning about our anatomy can replace shame or comparison with appreciation and respect for our bodies. The more we understand, the more we realize that diversity is not a flaw, it’s part of the design.
If you’ve never explored real anatomical education before, I highly recommend the resources below. They completely changed the way I view the female body and reminded me just how remarkable our design truly is. I encourage you to explore and reconnect with the most sacred parts of us. 💛
Happy exploring!

Over the last year and a half, I’ve prioritized my health in so many ways, but these are the things that have genuinely brought me the most joy. I realized that improving my mood and overall wellness wasn’t about doing everything but about figuring out what actually makes me feel good and building those things into my life consistently. These habits have become non-negotiables for me, and honestly, they’ve shifted something in my brain and body chemistry. When you find what works for you, make it part of your daily routine! ❤️ by @knittedpelvis

Pain with intimacy is not normal but common. It’s not something you just have to ‘deal with.’ If intimacy hurts, that’s your body telling you something needs attention! 🫶🏽 by @knittedpelvis

Let’s talk about the sling that’s literally holding your life together.

Your pelvic floor isn’t just a group of muscles but a beautifully designed hammock-like sling that cradles and supports your entire pelvic region. Think of it as your body’s built-in safety net, working 24/7 to keep everything functioning smoothly.

This incredible sling is responsible for:
✨Elimination - It helps control when you go (and when you don’t), giving you the freedom to live without worry
🫶🏽 Intimacy - It plays a vital role in sexual sensation and function, contributing to pleasure and connection
🙌🏼 Organ protection - It’s literally holding up your bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs, keeping everything exactly where it should be

And that’s just scratching the surface! This sling also assists with breathing, stabilizes your spine, and supports your posture. It’s connected to your entire core and works in harmony with your body’s movement patterns.
