Allegations of racist behavior coming from students and spectators of a private Christian school in Parker at Colorado high school football games could jeopardize the school’s athletic programs indefinitely if it fails to implement immediate changes to its culture, officials from the Colorado High School Activities Association warned Thursday.

Lutheran High School, which has been embroiled in controversy over alleged racist incidents at football games for nearly a month, is now facing suspension from CHSAA-sponsored games and other activities unless it completes a corrective action plan that addresses game management, spectator conduct, staff training and school culture.

A close call has neighbors in Pueblo asking for stronger protection along I-25.

Residents living near the interstate say the barrier separating traffic from nearby homes may not be enough after a recent crash raised concerns about what could happen if a vehicle leaves the roadway. Now, they're hoping to see additional safety measures considered along that stretch of highway.

Do you think more should be done to protect homes located near major highways?

Ice Castles, the family-friendly winter wonderland experience that drove thousands to Cripple Creek and Silverthorne each year, will not be returning to Colorado for the 2026-2027 winter season after the state experienced one of its most horrible winters on record.

While Wednesday’s announcement does not explicitly state that Colorado’s record-low snowpack was a reason for cancelling the event this year, Cripple Creek officials said earlier this month that organizers cited “operational and business considerations” as the reason behind the decision.

Though Ice Castles is canceled this winter, organizers said they hope to return “in the future” to the Centennial State.
