In a place called Living Earth in rural Poland, we gathered for a project Listen&Connect, training course for youth workers.
We explored what it means to connect deeply with ourselves, other people, community and nature.
We learned to listen and to be heard, to co-exist, to recognise, to trust, to share.
We danced, sang, played, laughed and challenged each other.
We bathed in nature, under unpredictable skies, surrounded with beautiful animals.
We slowed down and imagined new possibilities.
We inspired each other and grew a little bit together.
Thank you to facilitators, organizers and all other participants for co-creating this meaningful journey.

We are super grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of an Erasmus+ PBA (Partnership Building Activity) which was hosted by @puszcza.space in Poland!✨

We gathered here in Poland through the “Let’s Connect” project run by @kobie__ty to gain new skills and explore collaboration with new partners from all over Europe. We were able to discuss and plan future projects together and discover new teachings and methods to bring back home with us and then pass on to our community.🌿

It was a pleasure to be a part in all of this and we hope to continue to work with our new found partners!🌟

We couldn’t close this series about the Butterfly Effect without mentioning the amazing sessions offered by participants during the Sharing time and basically any free moment we had! Thanks to participants initiative we could participate in:

- Networking session of organizations

- Magic night with moon cards

- Invisible Ball game

- Conscious and consensual touch workshop

- Perception game

- Bike trips

- Night run

- Morning walks, run and yoga sessions

- Discussion about veganism

- Poetry workshops

- Real path Imaginary path workshop

- Collective cooking of pierogi and tortilla

- Financial workshop

- Massage session

- Empathic communication workshop

The last 1.5 days of the Butterfly Effect was dedicated to reflection, integration and evaluation. We:

- Reflected on what we learned in Łódź and how that can enrich the social projects we created in the first part of the project;

- Got familiar with the Youthpass and discussed which of the 9 youth workers competencies we developed during the training and how;

- Planned specific dissemination actions to be implemented in our communities back home to share results of the Butterfly Effect project;

- Evaluated the project, sharing our opinions about venue, program, trainers, etc;

- Closed with The Way of Council, sharing what we took from this experience.

We spent the second day in Łódz within Butterfly Effect project with 3 more changemakers, listening to their stories and experiences during presentations, Open Space and informal time around a tasty brunch. The first changemaker was Magdalena Senator representing the Centrum Innowacji Erasmus+ InnHub - a regional innovation center established by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System. Their mission is to promote European educational programs such as the Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps and to support the high-quality projects implemented within them. Magdalena shared a lot of her experience, answering various questions from Butterfly Effect participants, mostly related to ESC. Thank you! <3

The second person who participated in the Brunch with NGOs in Łódź was @julianczurko from @owocspotkania . He focused his sharing on the mental and sexual health of young people, raising a lot of interest. In fact, many of the projects created by Butterfly Effect participants were directly related to mental health! Lots of inspiration, tools and hope that things can be changed. Thank you Julian! The last changemaker who joined us for the Brunch with NGOs on the Butterfly Effect was Barbara Michalska from @fundacja_edukabe , whom you have already had the chance to meet through our project. In just a few minutes she touched us deeply, sharing her experience on working with young people, of trusting them and giving space so they can find their own answers rather than accept answers provided by adults. Barbara is a magical networker, public speaker and inspiring youth work expert who helped to clarify many of the doubts participants could still have. She also underlined the importance of small changes, gestures and actions which can have profound impact, here and now. Thank you!

Our stay in Grzybów culminated with the Mission (Im)possible, when participants created various ways of disseminating project results (see some examples below, others were shared in previous posts and reels) and made their farewell from the farm during a solo wonder in nature. In the afternoon we headed for a new adventure: Łódź!

After developing our changemaker skills, during the Butterfly Effect, we jumped into planning social projects. We started with identifying and analyzing the needs of our communities with tools like Mind Map and Problem tree. Then we followed with a collective brainstorming session to find potential solutions, choosing one specific we want to work on. To understand the context better we explored the SWOT tool and continued with the SMARTer method to sharpen our plans and visions even more. Using visualisation and a small steps approach we made our plans specific and realistic. The following days we also explored how to get resources for our projects and practiced public speaking to be able to involve others in our actions. Lots of learning!

During our first days of the Butterfly Effect 🦋, we focused on developing our changemaker skills. We:

✨ Reflected on our personal strengths;

💭 Dived deep into personal dreams and values, seeing how they influence our lives, decisions, and changemaking paths;

🤝 Explored the concept of needs and the difference between needs and strategies to cover those needs, inspired by the Non-violent Communication approach;

💖 Understood better emotions, their role, and the messages they bring us;

🗣️ During the Opening Council, we spoke from the heart and listened with the heart while sharing stories of moments we brought change to the world;

👂 Practiced deep listening in various formats, allowing ourselves to truly see and hear the person in front of us.
