I used to get a 3 pack of Lomo 800, 35mm, for $18. Even in 2019 I’m pretty sure…

Now, if you look at any roll of film at your local camera store they will hit you with sticks until you give them your card and then charge whatever they feel like.

For that reason, this image was shot with a digital camera.

Continuing my takeover of @float_magazine;

“The Moon Is Also Busy”, began as a ten-year retrospective and evolved into an ongoing meditation on growing up, growing older, and the quiet distance between who we were and who we are becoming. Through fragments of family life, adolescence, friendship, and place, the work explores memory not as a fixed record but as something constantly shifting—both tender and unreliable.
While looking back through a decade of photographs, I realized the images that resonated most were not tied to milestones or achievements, but to ordinary moments of connection and presence. The project became a celebration of “the long now”—the beautiful, funny, strange, and heartbreaking moments that quietly shape a life, asking what remains after time has done its work.

From my project, Painkillers. One of two projects I’m sharing in my takeover of @float_magazine .

Painkillers began in 2020 after my family and I moved to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The project explores the many reasons people come to the island—some chasing adventure, others searching for relief, reinvention, or healing. Set against a backdrop where luxury yachts sit alongside public housing, and where humor, hardship, and strong community coexist, the work examines the tension between paradise as it is imagined and paradise as it is actually lived.
