Introducing Mr. ASA, Nana Kwadjo “Kojo” Hayes. ✨

Kojo is a Junior Biology major on the Pre-Dental track at Morehouse College, representing Ghana and the Ga tribe legacy. 🇬🇭

His platform, 24Konfidence, is dedicated to cultivating unapologetic self-assurance within the African community building spaces where African students can walk in their full, authentic selves without judgment, and reclaiming self-worth for those who have long felt pressure to diminish who they are to fit into boxes that were never built for them. Kojo plans to use his role to transform that vision into lived experience, proving that confidence rooted in identity can lead to real, lasting change. by @kojohayes_

I want to start off by thanking God, because none of the things that I accomplish in my life would be possible without his presence. He gives me the strength and guidance that I need to achieve anything that I put my mind to.

When I started this pageant, I honestly didn’t know what the ending result would be. Going into this, I knew it was something outside of my comfort zone. If you told Kojo from a couple years ago that he would be doing something like this, he would’ve called you crazy. This pageant pushed me to become a better version of myself. It taught me how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. It revealed parts of me that I didn’t even know I had, and for that, I’m forever grateful and humble for this experience.

I want to thank my pageant directors for their dedication to this amazing organization and pageant. Your love, time, and energy are not unnoticed. You pushed us, saw potential in us, and guided us. You corrected us, uplifted us, and cared about our growth. You’ve made a lasting impact on my life, and I’m forever grateful. You deserve your flowers.

To my pageant siblings, this journey wasn’t always the easiest. But the growth I’ve seen in EACH AND EVERY ONE of you all inspires me to keep pushing to be the best version of myself. I’m so glad that I got to meet such a wonderful collection of personalities and genuine people that I can forever call my brothers and sisters. All of those late nights practices, all those late night conversations I would never take for granted. I love you guys so much.

To my friends and family, your support means the world to me. You stood by me through long nights, and moments of self-doubt. You reminded me of my worth and encouraged me to never give up.

Mom, I love you so much. You’re my rock. I wish Dad can be here to see the man that YOU molded me to become. Every night with your texts, you told me to keep pushing and the work would pay off.

aye mom we did it.

Sincerely,
Your 2026-2027 UMOJA Mr. ASA 🇬🇭👑 by @kojohayes_
