Introducing Mr. ASA, Nana Kwadjo “Kojo” Hayes. ✨

Kojo is a Junior Biology major on the Pre-Dental track at Morehouse College, representing Ghana and the Ga tribe legacy. 🇬🇭

His platform, 24Konfidence, is dedicated to cultivating unapologetic self-assurance within the African community building spaces where African students can walk in their full, authentic selves without judgment, and reclaiming self-worth for those who have long felt pressure to diminish who they are to fit into boxes that were never built for them. Kojo plans to use his role to transform that vision into lived experience, proving that confidence rooted in identity can lead to real, lasting change.

Before I say anything, I just want to thank Allah (SWT). None of this would be possible without the will He gives me every day to keep showing up better than I was before. Alhamdulillah for the strength to finish what I started and for the best of planners who guided my steps to this very moment.

Starting out in this pageant process, I wasn’t sure who I’d become. To be honest, I wasn’t always sure how to fully express my culture. knew who I was, but I didn’t always know how to voice it. However, being planted in a community that cares so deeply changed everything for me. Along the way, I became stronger, more disciplined, and more confident in the impact that I carry. This experience truly stretched me, humbled me, and allowed me to grow into a version of myself I’m proud of—one who works to link lineage with leadership.

I want to thank my pageant directors for their unwavering love for this organization and for being such a guiding, positive source of motivation for me. I also want to thank the court that came before me; thank you for showing the way and for demonstrating what it truly means to lead an organization to new heights. I want to thank the organization of ASA and the judges for entrusting me with this role, one I will carry with honor, intention, and purpose.

To my pageant siblings, you all are the true reason I made it this far. The love I have for y’all runs so deep, and being able to connect with your unique personalities and character has been the greatest gift I’ve gained from this entire process. Y’all are truly like family, and what we built together is something I will carry with me far beyond this pageant. In a space where I was learning to find my voice, y’all gave me the courage to speak.

Thank you to my Fulani family back home and my friends in the AUC, thank you from seeing a crown on my head long before I ever knew how to wear it. Your belief in me is what has allowed me to find my footing.

I promise to wear this crown with grace, intention, and responsibility. This is bigger than me, and I’m ready to rise to the Occasion. The work truly starts now!

Sincerely,
Your 2026-2027 1st Attendant to Mr. ASA 🇬🇳🇸🇳🌍👑
