Minimum hardware, maximum precision @xandre_kriel

Reliant on balance, tension and only the most minimal joinery, much of Xandre Kriel’s design practice and craftsmanship is informed by the Japanese technique of Sashimono: a traditional art of woodworking employing highly precise joints, eschewing the use of nails or glue.

The juxtaposition of materials—brushed aluminum, waxed rubber and wood—and industrial form conjures a futuristic vision in the Piek Chair.

A sculptural occasional seat, the Piek Chair is made to order, with customization available. DM or email to inquire.

The incredible Westcliff home of architects (and reigning pool design masters) Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens - a mid-century Joburg bungalow reimagined through the futurism of Googie architecture. A little Tadao Ando, a lot early James Bond lair 🍸
