Our Dining Room is tucked between the Kitchen and the home’s main Entry on the Parlor Floor at the @brooklynshowhouse.  Our main challenge with this room was the odd ceiling heights and added ductwork. We added hand-painted beams and wallpaper to camouflage and make a statement—somehow, all at the same time. From there, we brought in deep color, vintage lighting and sculptural furniture to create a moody, immersive escape.  Huge shoutout to our vendors and sponsors:

“ I grew up in the industrial canning town of Ashton in the Boland of South Africa. Sundays were spent breaking apart old Olivetti DE523 computers on the floor of my grandfathers garage, to the smell of grease as he fixed cars.“ Andries Vos | Xandre Kriel’s Grandfather Xandre Kriel | Piek chair ph @ankeloots @kombi.nyc

Film from @the_musing_s CHAMBERS exhibit, last May for New York Design week. I never got around to sharing this project I so luckily got to be a part of with the ever-inspiring @olivia_sammons but a year has passed and the memories flooded the forefront recently. There is never a shortage of beauty within Olivia’s spirit, I’m endlessly inspired by her ability to curate such beautiful pieces of art, people, furniture, memories, emotions. I am enchanted by her empathetic heart and her soul which holds so many layers of beauty and connectivity. A truly inspiring exhibit and event all around. I miss you @the_musing_s and @olivia_sammons 🖤 I’ll never forget the way it felt to be in the sky at @ninechapel with all of these works selected by Olivia herself. Porcelain featured and made by her dear friend and inspiring maker @wendypolish. Captivating art by @yemchuk. The light always hit differently up there, whether it was reflecting in the rainbow mirror panels by @kombi.nyc or upon the silk textiles in the bedrooms. Every step through this exhibit felt warm, intentional, kismet, comforting, wildly familiar and brand new all at once. A run through of a woman’s life 〰️ what was important to her, how she felt and saw the world around her, within her. These are just a few moments that caught my eye 🖤 And oh how much can change in just one year.
