Building façades shimmer under
layers of anti-graffiti coating.

Personal traces erased.
The urban skin is cleansed
of narratives other than the dominant one.

In the end, who will this city belong to?

Public space is never neutral.
It is negotiated, occupied, reorganised.

Subtle displacements,
quiet transformations,
make us move across shifting thresholds,
to navigate between infrastructure and interruption.

🎞 As part of their stay at ΦΑΝΚΑ Florina Art Residency, with the performance The Last Map, Despina Charitonidi and Konstantinos Kotsis draw on inquiries that reach back to the dawn of human societies. Ceramics, vernacular architecture, and ritual are reconfigured through contemporary terms in an artistic intervention that reads the practice of building as a social practice. In their shared research, materiality functions as a point of departure for reflecting on the relationship between place, collectivity, and historical narrative.

The program is supported by and under the auspices of Ministry of Culture.

Tune in for the upcoming episodes of the series The Palpitating Root and for the activities of FANKA Florina Art Residency.

This event was made possible by the beautiful group of people at @atelier_schillerstrasse , and especially @veronika_hauer and Jakob Pock,
who took such generous care of me during my residency.

Looking forward to our next venture with the van, out in the countryside.
