Loving these new grease pencils I got! Highly recommend them - affordable with great pigmentation. You know I had to break them in with a portrait of the contemporary punk GOAT Seb Lowe!

Also, Instagram deleted my previous portrait of him from a few weeks ago, so swipe right on this image if you wanna see it again!

From MacKenna's artist talk about her show, EXTRAS

As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to illustration. For a very long time I wanted to be a professional comic-book artist, but around the time college began, I realized I didn’t have the patience for that and chose to practice oil painting. I fell in love with the medium and began to understand that I didn’t want to be confined by any label—”painter,” “illustrator,” whatever. I barely tolerate the phrase “fine art.” by @korova.art

Can‘t thank @purplewindowgallery and @beegriph enough for choosing me to participate in their wonderful group exhibit, MOVIES THAT MAKE ME CRY, closing September 27. I’m devastated that I was unable to see it in-person, and a big thanks to everyone who made my participation possible—and to the fellow artists in the exhibit who produced gorgeous work.

Go to the Substack link in my bio to read my statement and reflections on the painting I produced for the show.

Thanks to Lexi Raia @kenaussy for documentation photos.
