earth symphony... listen to the 12 minutes journey here: https://mitschkohn.com/earth-symphony and dive into beautiful space with the brand new @koshisound Koshi-Chimes MOUNTAIN, FOREST, RIVER and OCEAN, in 4 neo-classical compositions... each inspired by the essence behind its name. As Koshi´s sound already is deeply connected to sound healing, meditation, yoga and many other forms of conscious listening, I wanted to open another door… to explore what happens when this familiar sound enters a larger musical landscape of piano, cello, flute and additional acoustic textures in a neoclassical context. A Koshi cannot be controlled in the same way as a piano or cello — and I didn't want it to be. Its movement and slight unpredictability are part of its beauty. So instead of forcing the chimes into the compositions, I tried to compose around their character — creating places in the music where they could simply emerge… and interact with the instruments. The four pieces became four different worlds:
MOUNTAIN — perspective, elevation, openness and sky.
FOREST — earth, mystery, magic and unseen life. RIVER — movement, dynamic, change, story and flow.
OCEAN — vastness, depth and interconnectedness. The wonderful @saschakidmusic joins me on cello throughout the project, and @josephpepedanza brings the breath and ancient voice of the Shakuhachi and Bansuri into FOREST. The final mix and mastering was made by Samuel Dunkley @sd_mastering by @koshisound
