A few months ago, I offered to design for @mazikaaenterprise in their collaboration with the @padres ⚾️ We were uncertain about a lot of things; whether we could collect enough funds to guarantee the event, how much creative agency we’d have, and of course how many tickets we’d sell. Initially we’d be happy if we could get to 700 tickets. I’m happy to say that the Middle Eastern North African (SWANA) Padres event has officially sold out! There has never been a SWANA event in Petco Park but now more than 1500 people will be celebrating a culture that is often associated with fear. Shoutout @3alamlulu & @zadenoman for organizing it all!!

This design truly represents my 10 years of being a custom lettering artist and 3 years as a sign painter. It is some of my best work and I’m proud it’s for a community that I admire and has been so welcoming to me. There is power in being a well-practiced artist and this hat is one of many examples. Thank you to everyone for your support, even if you’re not at the event sharing the video meant the world. I’m excited to see a huge crowd all wearing my design 😱💕

This might be the best lettering I’ve drawn so far. Shoutout @mazikaaenterprise for being so bold to raise enough funds to put this together ✨ 🇹🇭🇸🇾
