36 University of Iowa dancers trained to perform “Panorama” on the Hancher stage during the Martha Graham Dance Company’s performance on March 29.
The collaboration between Hancher, the Department of Dance, and the Martha Graham Dance Company highlights the energy and possibilities of #PerformingArtsAtIowa–and initiative devoted to collaboration and creativity.

In 1935, Martha Graham debuted “Panorama,” a groundbreaking work pushing the boundaries of dance and artistic expression. Created for students “Panorama” emphasizes the collective power of people through dynamic choreography. For decades, “Panorama” was lost, but in 1992, the work resurfaced and was dedicated to students across the nation who continue to bring Graham’s artistic vision to life.

We are excited to welcome @kperez.movement as a featured artist in the Sunday, January 11th performance at 2pm!

Her work, "Hum in the Night," was originally created as part of a collaboration between the University of Iowa Department of Dance and the International Writing Program, where IWP writers submit texts for choreographic interpretation. This piece is based on Dark Bulb by Reeta Pekkanen.

You don't want to miss this gorgeous result of collaboration at the Ball Performing Arts Center @mclennancommunitycollege.
