Before it became a “winning shape,” it was just another chunk of foam in @dan__mann’s shaping bay. very fortunate to work on the launch of @slaterdesigns’ drk in i-bolic 2.0 technology by @dan__mann and @kellyslater, the winning design from @stab’s all-star iteration of their double-blind board test media franchise, stab in the dark x starring @kellyslater. was lucky enough to have the opportunity to head into the shaping bay with my good buddy and partner @alohavisuals, to visit dan while he was working out of his room at the @darkartssurf facility in san diego. dan’s a remarkable human being on many levels, and i can’t wait for the world to learn his true story. and this batch of imagery shows one aspect of his uniqueness...he’s one of the world’s only commuting shapers—every month or so, dan throws his shaping tools into a couple of beat-up bags, boards a flight from his place in costa rica that he built with his own hands to mow foam when needed—then flies back down south with his tool bags in hand to enjoy the Pura Vida. by @kpshu

the time has come. 👷‍♂️📈 @forhirestudio i’ve learned that the best careers aren’t perfectly mapped out—they’re built one interesting opportunity, one great collaborator, and one uncomfortable leap at a time. turns out, the next logical step for me was the least logical one: start my own thing. after more than a decade on the brand side within action sports, digiboi™️ has evolved into @forhirestudio, and i’m stepping into freelance and betting on myself. it’s been an unforgettable ride with @outerknown, @firewiresurfboards, @slaterdesigns, @billabong, @carverskate, @unitedtalent, and beyond—every experience has left me with new tools and skills, better questions, and a clearer sense of how i want to spend my time in this world, and this is my natural next step. those opportunities helped shape how i think, how i work, and the kind of creative partner i want to be. so here’s to taking on new challenges, making things that matter, working with good humans, and finding out where this road leads. i’m fired up to see what can happen when curiosity gets a little more room to breathe. if you’ve got a project in mind, i’d love to hear about it, big or small. it is from here, we build! by @kpshu
