Special thank you to @braxxbateman and @eightyeightsclt for that you all are doing for live music in the Charlotte Arts community.

Public Shows This Month!

I have a lot of private stuff this month, but I do have a few cool public and family friendly stuff to check out.

I'll be covering for Andy Anderson 🥁 the next few days (8/30 Sun, 8/31 Mon, 9/1 Tue) so I'll be at the Queen Sun-Wed this week, then Wed and Thur the following 3 weeks. This will be my final month playing full-time at "The Queen", so come hang out. I'm sure I'll pop in to hang with Mr. Roy, or sub on occasion.

I look forward to seeing some familiar faces 😎 ✌🏽 by @kr8zystix

I had to try the "Mr. Roy" (Scotch and Milk)🤯 It's dangerously smooth and I don't even like Scotch! Mr. Roy is a wise man 😎 by @kr8zystix

Luke Tsurumaki!!!

Remember that name ladies and gentlemen. This 12 year old saxophone player came and hung out with us at Cajun Queen @cqclt . I was expecting some cute squawking middle school tone and only blues. Luke is COOKIN' already 🤯. He had a few tunes already prepared and then we threw him in the fire with a few standards to sight-read and he nailed them. 👌🏽

He already has the right network and mentors pouring into him. The saxophone 🎷 he was playing is from Adrian Crutchfield @realgoodsax , he is already locked in with @thejazzarts youth program, he is taking private lessons from a retired CMS legend (Mrs.Tobin), and has amazing supportive parents. I was blown away and honored to say I had an opportunity to play with Luke before his name is in the lights. 😎

I knew it was official when Mr. Roy got up from the bar and moved closer to hear him play, and even introduced himself after one of the tunes. He is on his way, and I can't wait to witness his growth and progress. Thanks Luke, you inspired me to go home and practice 😂

P.S. Of course he is welcome at Cajun Queen anytime, but his parents are seeking more places and opportunities for him to play and perform in a kid friendly environment or even "non-kid friendly" establishments that would allow him access with his chaperones of course. If you know any all ages open mics or jams please let me know. by @kr8zystix

Happy Birthday Dr. Laura!!!! Laura Blanco Laura Blanco I hope your day is amazing. You can beat me up for the picture later 😂 This was after some fun times of me beating you guys in monopoly 😎 by @kr8zystix

Monthly Public Shows. Pull Up!

Judith is out at the "Queen" this month but we have a amazing crew of talented Charlotte musicians helping us out this month. Come hang out with Mr. Roy and grab some grub.

The "DMV" owes me nothing!!! 🫡

Aside from this weekend being a cool performance opportunity at the nation's capital, it was a reunion from like six different circles of my life so I was on "Cloud 9" the whole weekend. 😁

I was able to reconnect with high school peeps, fellow @fsu_broncos and @thembxpress alumni, @hillcountrypicnic North Mississippi Hill Country Family, @spoletofestivalusa family ( @swanstudiosnyc , Andreas, Nancy, and Ben) one of my stepdaughters 😏🤭, Barbara flew in from Charlotte for the mayhem 🤪, and I was able to make some new connections as well 😎.

Speaking of, I met a beautiful soul who was hanging out in the garden while we were sound-checking. She came up, we swapped pleasantries, and she expressed that she was glad that she was able to catch the sound check because she was not able to get a ticket from the lottery. 😢

The venue contact told us they only accept 4,000 out of the 60,000 people who submitted a request for a pass to the event. 🫠 So many people often go without winning a ticket for years.

Lucky for her, some of my family members changed their plans due to the incoming unsettling weather, so I had a few extra passes to bless people with. She was very ecstatic and enjoyed the performance. I am appreciative that she was able to grab some footage from the front view. Thank you Betty

This first clip was SUPPOSED to be a "Bustin' Loose" teaser into a hill country song, but the @chuckbrownband groove felt so good, we kept it right there. 😎

Slow Blues "Burnside Style"

@blackhause.co Event. 🔥 🔥 🔥
Don't miss it if they come to a city near you.

DMV Peeps!!! We heard the White House could use a lil more of that "Good Funk" right about now 😏. To all my Leckie, Stuart Hobson, Bolling AFB, DMV area Broncos 🐎 and all my family and friends in the surrounding area, I Am Coming Home! 😎

The Garry Burnside Band is bringing that Hill Country flavor to Washington, DC July 10th at the National Gallery of Art for their "Jazz in the Garden" series. We play 6PM-8:30 PM It is FREE 🤑 and family-friendly.

You do have to request passes from their lottery system (which goes live at 10AM Eastern Time today) so they can ensure that everyone gets a fair chance to enjoy the concert series. If you are selected for this lottery system then you will be informed on July 6th via email. I've also been told that if you don't win the lottery, that you can still show he day of at 5:00 p.m. to get a day passes to the performance if space allows.

*If I have already talked to you, and you have confirmed that you will 100% be there, you are good on the list or you already have your pass.*

Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs, blankets, party pants, and dancing shoes. I look forward to seeing so many familiar faces. Let's "Shake em on Down" 😎
