How fast 2 years has gone by, and it still feels like yesterday losing you. As I walked into work today, this song was playing on the radio and I knew that was you checking in as it was one of your favorites and you used to always sing it to me. So much has changed in 2 years and I wish you were here to see and be a part of everything, but I know you're watching over us and I appreciate all the signs and check-ins. I love you, Mom. We lost our Kayla girl on Dia de los Muertos. She was our soul dog for Mike and I, and we feel broken and hollow without her. We thought we would have her one last holiday season, but God had other plans 😔 We will always remember her as our beautiful, smart, and courageous girl ❤️ gone far too soon. Thankfully, she was bright and active through 4 months of chemo until it stopped working, and she was surrounded by her loving family, her pack, when it was time for her to peacefully go over the 🌈 bridge to reunite with Kashim & Luna. I know they will take such good care of her 🥹

Until we meet again, Kayla, my girl, my saucisson, rest in eternal peace - I can't wait for you to run up to us again with that tail swinging all over the place! by @kravmagamindset

Our beautiful Kayla girl, the world just feels a little emptier without you and we miss you so very much. Thank you for all the wonderful memories over the last 10+ years, I've never known a smarter, more loyal, caring, generous and beautiful doggie than I knew in you. Thank you for helping me grow over these years and always being a positive presence in our lives. You put up a hell of a fight and you can rest easy now. Happy first Heavenly birthday, Mom. I cannot believe the whirlwind that the last 2 months have been, and to be honest, things are really not ok. I miss you everyday and I know that's never going to change as my life continues on. I think we've all just started to navigate these murky waters of grief and remembrance. I really don't know that I have the words to express my feelings yet. I know I would just love to hear your voice and see you smile again especially on what should be an otherwise joyous occasion.

Please continue watching over us and guiding us through these emotionally complicated times. Give us strength when we need it. I know you were always proud of me and I hope that I may continue to keep making you proud each and every day. I love and miss you, Mom and may we meet again one day. Until then, Happy Birthday ❤️
