The sea is my studio.

I engrave underwater.

I am Antonella Magliozzi, a multidisciplinary artist and performer based in Italy.

My practice spans painting, engraving, ceramics, photography, installation, performance, voice and writing - different forms of expression within a single artistic practice.

The sea, nature and the universe have always been part of my creative world - sources of inspiration, exploration and connection.

At the heart of my current work is DEEP CONTACT, a body of 81 large-scale paintings.

My connection with the sea has also become part of the creative process itself, leading me to create engravings directly underwater - a first in the history of art.

Different languages, different experiences, one artistic identity.

Painting is, first and foremost, discipline.

It is weight, friction, balance.
It is the body entering the painting before color does.

Every gesture demands strength, control, and presence.
Because it is through discipline that freedom is born.

In my studio, the work takes shape slowly.

Layer by layer, color and matter meet, overlap and transform. This is how the painting finds its presence.
