I work into the sea and with the sea.
Seven Seas Collection

#underwater #underwaterart #sevenseascollection #contemporaryart #artunderwater

The engravings in the Seven Seas series emerge as a natural extension of my research into the connections between the micro and macro universes. While in Deep Contact energy manifests itself as a vibrant, cosmic field, in the engravings it is translated into line, flow, and current.

The sea is not a metaphor, but the actual site of creation; it becomes the physical space of my studio. The matrices are engraved directly on the seabed, and immersion becomes an integral part of the artistic process.
The body enters the landscape that gives rise to the work; currents, pressure, light, and the presence of living organisms all contribute to the formation of the mark.

Engraving in the sea means engaging with a living environment, where observation and experience become one. Forms are reduced to their essence: lines that flow like inner currents, maps capable of recording vibrations, memories, and encounters. Each sea possesses its own identity, rhythm, and memory; the engravings capture a trace of these qualities, not as a descriptive representation, but as an experience of connection.

The sea thus becomes a bridge between body and cosmos. Its currents evoke the movements of the unconscious, while its depths resonate with those of the universe. The lines meet, separate, and transform, like synapses engaged in dialogue or currents intertwining.

Each engraving is a passage between depth and surface, memory and breath, inner life and infinity. A sensory map that invites us to follow the movement of water within ourselves, to recognize our inner tides, and to let ourselves be guided by what flows.

The Seven Seas collection comprises engravings inspired by some of the most spectacular seas on the planet. Their uniqueness lies in the very place where they are created: the plates are engraved directly on the seabed, using the drypoint technique, at an average depth of between nine and twelve metres.

MESSAGES FROM THE SEA…

The sea has left us messages. Today, we began to listen. 🌊

In this live, I introduced the first seven oracle cards from Messages from the Sea, born from the engravings I created underwater in the Tyrrhenian Sea. I read messages 1 through 7: seven invitations to pause, look within, and let an image open up a question.

If you couldn’t join me live, you can watch it here! Then tell me in the comments which message speaks to you most. ✨

The journey continues: in the next live sessions, I’ll share the seven cards from the Caribbean Sea, followed by those from the Red Sea. I wonder what the other seas will have to tell us.

Painting is, first and foremost, discipline.

It is weight, friction, balance.
It is the body entering the painting before color does.

Every gesture demands strength, control, and presence.
Because it is through discipline that freedom is born.

What if a painting could behave like a living organism?
A surface that grows, reacts, connects.

Thousands of marks. One ecosystem.
Somewhere between matter, memory and nature.

Come closer. What lives inside?

(e viceversa)

💫
Everything is energy.
Everything is interconnected.

Throughout the journey of our lives, we will encounter many different kinds of energy.

We must always remember that we have the power to influence and transform the energies we come into contact with.

We can turn negative energy into positive energy — and vice versa.
