Wow. 😳🤯 I’m really not sure what else to say except go see this. It’s mind-bending. It defies genre and classification. And, it’s perhaps the most interesting examination - interrogation even - of storytelling that I’ve ever seen. taken in Cinemark North East Mall 18 by @krisnoteboom

Of course I liked Digger. So, I won’t beat you up about it. Iñárritu makes movies that are very coded to what I like, and Digger is no different. So, I’ll simply say that you should go see this in the theater. Because this is a movie theater movie if there ever was one. It’s bold and audacious. And, it takes a pretty big Brechtian swing with a mid-film twist. For me, it worked. But, that’s because it used my favorite framing device in storytelling. If you can hang with the twist, you’ll love the movie. If you love Dr. Strangelove, I think you’ll like this movie. And, I’m not sure if anyone could have pulled off this role better than Tom Cruise, who absolutely killed it as our eponymous “hero”. I dug @diggerthemovie. You should too. taken in AMC Movies The Parks Mall by @krisnoteboom

Greg Abbott and the Texas GOP are Lucy with the football. Stop being Charlie Brown. Stop falling for the culture war chum they feed you. They’ve been in charge of this state for 30 years. Our grid is failing, our infrastructure is crumbling, our water is running out, our property taxes have skyrocketed, our schools rank near the bottom of the country in every meaningful metric, and we rank near the top in uninsured, child poverty, and infant mortality. But hey, at least Tim Dunn, Farris Wilks. Adam Hoffman, and all their other cronies have gotten richer. by @krisnoteboom

Primetime was excellent. Certainly a discomforting watch, but really well done. I’ll watch anything directed by Lance Oppenheim. One of the best young directors working today. And, I loved all the different non-traditional cameras he employed for this film. The whole thing looks like a time capsule filtered through tube TV fuzz. Pattinson really goes for it here, and I loved it. Like with Oppenheim, I’ll watch anything Pattinson does. Not everyone will love his unhinged performance, but it really worked for me. Skyler Gisondo is another actor that has been impressive lately, and he’s excellent here. But, for me, Merritt Weaver gives the all-around best performance in this movie. She has to really walk a line between indulging Pattinson’s Hanson, being a soulless producer, and still being a human being who has found herself in a very strange place. How she can hold both ruthlessness and compassion at the same time is immensely impressive. And, she does it so subtly, which is the right move. She gives Pattinson the room to be the chaos while carving out her own strong performance around it. Also, helluva performance by Alex Winter, however brief it was. Definitely recommend. taken in AMC the Parks Mall by @krisnoteboom
