My Spring 2027 season is coming into form and it is shaping up to be quite the adventure.

Yesterday confirmed Patriot’s Day for what will be my 9th Boston Marathon in a row 🦄💙💛

I’m getting very close to reaching one of my long time goals, joining the Unicorn Club - that is streak 10 years in a row, no breaks or gaps.

It doesn’t yet feel real but holy smokes I’m so excited!

Boston will culminate a full spring with the previously confirmed Tokyo Marathon (3rd time), Houston Half (4th time), and first time Superhalfs Berlin and Prague.

What a day, what a weekend!

NYC Half 2026 🗽

Race day landed 2 weeks after the Tokyo Marathon so it certainly fell on the short turnaround side. But I love everything about this race! The course is tough but iconic. Spectators bring that unbeatable NY Energy. Top elites are out front doing incredible things. And to cap it off the weather this year was perfect.

Plus it gave me the opportunity to lock in my guaranteed Time Qualifier for next year’s NYC Half and NYC Marathon.

Hey that’s me in the latest issue of Major’s Magazine!

I actually wrote this article during the prior big NYC snowstorm 4 weeks ago. I had no idea then how timely it would be, but this weekend’s blizzard delivered right on cue. 😅

The Boston field has been announced and here I am thinking back to when I found myself an insignificant speck behind several of those amazing runners 10 days ago in Houston.

Backstory, in prior years they would have the entire sub-elite field go off at once, marathon and half together. This year our group of half sub-elites went off right behind the actual real deal elites. That meant we made it onto the broadcast.

I did an edit and added an arrow, see note above about speck, because goodness knows if I might find myself in that lucky position again. ❤️🥰 by @krisrs

Kicking 2026 off on a high note with an epic weekend in Houston! 🤠

My 3rd HOU, I love this race. This go round I used the Half for a Tokyo tune up without much of a taper. Fortunately I felt great! I mean appropriately tired for this point in marathon training and happy with my body’s ability to keep the legs grinding.

I also got to chat up several elites at the expo, as well as attend the live podcast of Nobody Asked Us Friday. But best of all I got to hang out with family.

I was asked to write about my experiences this year running the Tokyo Marathon as a pacer. It was my pleasure to recount that amazing weekend and also offer some tips for others who are heading to Japan.

This coming March I will return to Tokyo once again, this time to race for myself and collect my 2nd six star medal. I can’t wait! 🌟

My run streak officially turned 4 yesterday! This year it was 1 week post NYCM but when I started the streak in 2021 it was 1 day post NYCM.

That fall I ran 3 marathons in 35 days: London, Boston and NYC - weird covid times remember with April races pushed back. I then took Monday to recover and decided I needed a new challenge, so here I am:

1,461 days and many miles miles later, still going 🩷

Still on cloud 9 from Sunday’s Bronx 10 Miler. Thank you to all who came to race and support. You simply can’t beat the NYC running community. 💕

The conditions were rather challenging for mid-September with temps climbing to 80 and a lot of direct sun, but my pace buddy and I kept a nice group of guys motivated and on target through mile 9.5 before we sent them ahead.

Afterwards I joined the CPTC crew for our extended cool down back to the isle of Manhattan. As you can tell, no fun was had 😀

Excited, I have officially put in for what will be my 8th Boston Marathon in a row!

Joining me on Patriot’s Day will be CPTC masters, Leah and Kelly, as we 3 set out to defend our 1st place team title. I am eternally grateful for Dani, my club, and all the folks in my corner who give me the motivation and support needed to press on and dig ever deeper.

There’s something of a curse to longevity. At that point when all the easy gains are a distant memory, the only margins remaining are razor thin, you can either relent or double down. I’ve certainly doubted, but when the rubber meets the road, the heart replies let’s f*cking go!

Best wishes to all the unicorn hopefuls out there. No matter the outcome in a few weeks, never stop chasing your dreams. 🦄💙💛 by @krisrs
