There’s a specific kind of tired that has nothing to do with sleep. It’s sitting in the car for two minutes before going inside, running through a list only I’m carrying. Michael didn’t know most of it existed, not because he doesn’t care, but because I never handed it to him. That’s the mental load - not the doing, the remembering. What’s helped: getting it out of my head and onto paper, asking for help (including paid help) without guilt, and letting go of the idea that everything gets done. It won’t. That’s not failure, that’s just what a full life looks like.

If you’re carrying an invisible list of your own right now, I see you. Tell me what’s on it, sometimes saying it out loud lightens it.

I spend an embarrassing amount of mental energy figuring out how to sneak actual nutrition into things my kids will eat. We have the rule in the house: I decide what you eat, you decide how much… which also means sometimes they eat all their rice and zero veggies haha. So yes greens blended into pancake batter, frozen cauliflower in berry smoothies, or greens dissolved into a tomato sauce nobody can taste it in. It’s not about being sneaky for the sake of it, it’s just the reality of feeding small humans with strong opinions and short attention spans. I’ve come to accept this is just what the next few years of parenting looks like.

What’s your best hidden-vegetable trick?

Michael keeps saying this time is so magical… I got peed on at 3am 😅
the real postpartum: woke up 8 times last night, night sweats, milk dripping everywhere, wearing a diaper, body sore and tired.

And also — the baby snuggles and little sounds truly are the best. Both things are true.

It’s such a rollercoaster. You feel great in the morning and suddenly emotional and exhausted by afternoon. I’m resting a lot, and honestly this postpartum feels easier than my first two (I think the easier birth helped… more on that another time).

My 3 favorite breakfasts right now:
🍎 Warming apple oats — oats, water, dates, apple, coconut milk, Healing Turmeric, cinnamon + almond butter on top
🥬 Savory oats — buckwheat oats, spinach, zucchini, Healing Turmeric, nutritional yeast, pepper, splash of soy sauce + hot sauce
🫐 Berry oats — oats, frozen raspberries, raisins, coconut milk, Beauty Berries + almond butter or coconut yogurt

Lunch is mostly pumpkin or zucchini potato soup, snacking on coconut yogurt with honey and happy cacao bliss balls (just almonds, dates + happy cacao), lots of raspberry leaf tea, and dinner is white rice with more pumpkin. Turmeric lattes on repeat. keeping it simple 💗

And yes — taking my multivitamin every day. Extra iron and all the nutrients my body needs right now.

Share your fav postpartum foods in the comments 🤍 I’m always looking for new ideas

Meet the newest member of the family. Luca Alex Kuech. We are so happy he is there! Born on 8th September, 57cm long with a weight of 3855g. Leo and Lily are loving their little brother! 💗 by @kristelromani

time to say bye bye…

Officially 38 weeks pregnant this week and my body is telling me loud and clear: it’s time to slow down. So this is my little goodbye for now — I’m heading into the birth bubble 🤍

Don’t worry, Michael and the SuperPlants team have everything covered, and I worked so far ahead this past month that there are fun emails, posts and even a new product launch coming while i’m snuggling a newborn.

This weekend I went full nesting mode and cooked + froze all my postpartum meals. My favorite is the pumpkin soup I eat right after every birth — ginger, turmeric and a little white onion in coconut oil, lots of pumpkin, coconut milk, salt and pepper, boil until soft and blend. That’s it. I shared the green smoothie I might even sip during birth in the slides too (Daily Greens is in there, obviously 😉).

But what I really wanted to say this week is thank you! For trusting our little family business with your health, for sharing SuperPlants with the people you love, for every comment and message. One of our biggest values is that you feel EMPOWERED - because you know your body best, and you’re the one in charge of your health. I hope SuperPlants helps you feel that just a little bit more.

See you on the other side… probably with a baby on my chest 🥹

What’s your favorite meal to have waiting in the freezer? Tell me below! S still have room in mine 😅

I can’t believe we just did that…

Monday was the first day of The Homeschool - the teacher led pod we organized, built and host at our own home. Watching Leo and Lily walk in so proud to “go to school” had me tearing up a little honestly.

We’re hosting Monday, Tuesday + Thursday mornings… fun, learning, exploring, building community - and we homeschool the rest of the time. somehow that balance feels exactly right for us right now.

And the unexpected part? Michael and I suddenly have mornings to work together. Not the exhausted evening version of us - the actual awake version haha. For a few more weeks anyway, before baby number 3 changes everything again 🤍

Ohh and almost forgot we celebrated Leo’s 4th bday this weekend! Can’t believe our first baby turned 4 already!

This week we’re finishing up a few big things for SuperPlants before I take a little break… a new product campaign we are SO excited about, finalizing sourcing (always a process when you’re picky about who you work with), writing handwritten cards, and some fun emails going out.

Speaking of - if you’re not on our newsletter yet, that’s honestly my favorite place to write. link in bio to join 💌

PS. We have one spot still open in the pod if you’re local to Topanga!

Life is feeling so FULL right now…

Michael turned 38, we surprised him with a friends dinner, a beach day and a homemade raw cake. Then a moms night out last Thursday — all the mamas together, no kids, pure magic. friends staying over, a kids concert, curtains going up, shelves, paint, and somehow we’re also building a semi inground pool this week… because apparently everything needs to happen in the next two weeks haha

Leo turns 4 this week too and I’m dreaming up a raw blue lemon cake for his party (drop your cake ideas below, I need them). And our little homeschool pod officially starts next week 🥹

And in between all of that… SuperPlants is in full swing. Photoshoots for a new product, designing the campaign, fresh collagen support produced, new videos, switching warehouses in Europe. Work and life blur together over here and honestly we wouldn’t want it any other way — we call it our play time for a reason.

If you want the behind the scenes of all of it, sign up for our newsletter — it’s my favorite place to write. link in bio 💌

A couple more weeks of full speed… and then it’s time to slow down and bring a little baby into this world 🤍

35 weeks pregnant with our third, and if you’d told me a few years ago how differently I’d be doing this one, I don’t think I would have believed you. With Leo and Lily I had lists — raspberry leaf tea, herbal drops, dates, a hundred squats, birth meditations, all of it. This time my whole routine is almost embarrassingly simple: Daily Greens and my MultiVitamin every morning, and then just... allowing more space. Less doing, more surrendering, trusting that my body already knows how to do this. I’m working ahead right now so I can actually take two-plus months off without checking in unless I want to, not because I feel like I have to — we just wrapped a really fun new product campaign, more on that soon. This week is still a moms’ dinner and a kids’ concert, and next week is Leo’s 4th birthday, which he’s decided means inviting literally everyone he’s ever met — that’s my last big thing to host before I slow all the way down. After that: freeze some meals, soak in these last few weeks, get out of my head and back into my body, breathe, maybe finally book that massage. If you’ve done this before, what did you love doing in those final weeks? Tell me below, I’d genuinely love to know.

I just hosted the most amazing moms’ dinner, and there’s actually a funny story behind why I started these moms-only nights….

A few days ago Michael was chatting with a dad on the playground and got invited to his first dad meetup — 8pm on Thursday nights. And I remember thinking: wait, the first dad meetup you get invited to, there are no kids?!

Every mom meetup I’d been to up until then was moms and all the kids together — super fun, but hard to really connect, finish a sentence, or go deeper, since you’re always half-watching the kids and getting interrupted.
We can multitask, sure, but now I love hosting a moms-only dinner once a month, about 12 of us here in Topanga, just to connect and have an evening for ourselves.

Last time we had a Happy Cacao mousse for dessert :)

If you’re a mom, maybe this inspires you to host one too. But really, I just wanted to share a few fun things with you this week.

A day in my life at 33 weeks pregnant, building SuperPlants, raising 2 toddlers: smoothies, a work call, stolen 30-minute bursts, then horseback riding and a Whole Foods run with both kids in tow. Evenings are cooking together, gratitude talk at dinner, bedtime, then Slack and tea with Michael once it’s quiet. People ask how I do it all — I don’t, I have help, and no two days look the same. Kids first, business second, Michael in the evenings, then whatever’s left is mine — just 2-3 half days of work a week. Baby #3 arrives in 6 weeks and I’m sure it all changes again 🌱

My two favorite little doulas, they are so excited for this little baby to arrive… from daily hugs, kisses, to practicing putting diapers on their own babies, to a million questions about birth including why I am naked, and stating that Leo will catch the head and Lily the legs 😂 these two are the funniest and make me laugh so much every day! ❤️

The one thing that still feels awkward after 10+ years in health food?
Talking to a silent camera 😅 We’re doing more ads and social now, and I still feel weird telling my iPhone our story with zero response.

During the pandemic we live-cooked superfood recipes daily and the instant comments made it feel like a real conversation. So much easier. Anyone else relate to camera-awkwardness?

Otherwise — prepping ahead these next two weeks before I take time off for this baby.

I know hustle culture glorifies working through it all, but I’m on the other side: slow down before birth, rest 40 days after. Nesting, recovering, letting people take care of you so you can take care of baby.
