When we launched Longtime, First Time, we had no idea what would happen. We’re a less-than-$0 budget show. Seriously, it costs us money to put this out there.

When we broke the top 100 fiction charts, we about lost our minds. We specifically went into this with no bigger dreams for it than wanting it to be a fun show for us to produce, and a fun show for people to listen to.

That was almost a month ago, and we thought our luck hitting the top 100 was a cool accolade, but unlikely to happen again anytime soon.

Turns out we were wrong.

Last week, we were featured on the “New Shows” Fiction list on Apple Podcasts, and shortly after that, we found ourselves in the “Popular Shows” category on the same chart. Since then, we’ve had a steady stream of new downloads and listeners all stopping by Wolf Bluff. AND we’re back in the Top 100 Fiction Charts at # 82!

We’re so grateful and lucky that we actually *are* having a blast producing this show. I know @austinfieldsmusic is loving channeling his horror heroes as he writes, edits, sound designs, and scores. And I’m getting to both act in the show, and work with actors (one of my personal favorite things to do) for recording sessions.

We’re also working with some of the most talented people I’ve ever met who lend their voices to make this work sing. And every single one that comes in to work in our space is so open and collaborative. It’s such a joy. I literally ran out of tags — that’s how many of you have jumped in feet first with us. 🖤

The fact that people are listening and enjoying? It’s so much more than the cherry on top. It’s the reason we do what we do.

Many artists create for themselves, and that’s true here, too. But we also create to connect with others. To explore shared humanity. To get to say “that part freaked me out, too!” or banter about our favorite characters (everyone is obsessed with Fiona, and we get it).

I could wax poetic about this all day –– but here’s to all the indie artists and creators out there making cool stuff for the joy of it. You truly never know what will happen next.

12 years since we threw a dance party. Oh, and made vows and all that.

The best part is that 2/1/14 was just the start of many “best night evers” to come.

Love you, @austinfieldsmusic 🖤 by @kristenmariafields
