Some people have asked why we released the Dolla (The Flame) single after the film rather than before.The answer is simple: it was the audience’s response to the film that inspired us to record and release the song as a single.The stunning work of Kristian Svalestad Olstad and Stein Austrud made this recording possible and brought new life to this beautiful composition by Isak Samuel Hætta. I have a deeply personal connection to the song “Dolla” by Isak Samuel Hætta. I sang “Dolla” (“The Flame”) at the funeral of John-Reier, who died far too soon. In my youth, he was my boyfriend and one of the people who most inspired me to recognize the value of my Sámi heritage. Today, I’m honored to share that the studio version of this beautiful song is now available on all digital platforms. My trio spent the last weekend at the Kysten Studio in Tromsø, recording an album "Slåtter fra Gaupdalen V / Tunes from the Lynx Valley V". It became a mix of optimistic, sad, beautiful, light, dense and slightly crazy filmatic-grunge-folk. Really really looking forward sharing the music with the world which will most probably happen in the beginning of November '26. by @kristjaan
