POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today marks one year of producing News 9 Daybreak! 🥳

I am blessed to come in to work with such an incredible team everyday. They make working overnights feel like a breeze. I still can’t believe I have been able to produce newscasts for the Boston Marathon, New Hampshire’s First-in-the-Nation Primary, the 2024 Election and more. It makes all the late nights and little sleep worth it. I’m so excited for the year to come!

Today marks ONE YEAR since I started working @wmur9❗️

This past year has been the most rewarding experience. I have learned so much from everyone at News 9 and I could not ask for a better group of people to work with! They make me come in to work with a smile everyday. I cannot wait to keep learning in this newsroom. I look forward to everything to come in this next year! by @krolphreports

In honor of my last newscast with Chapman News, over the next week I’m going to highlight some of my favorite moments working with @chapmannews from the past 2 years!

The first, when I was able to cover the Huntington Beach Oil Spill as it happened in October of 2021. I immediately went to the beach with @emmaasexton to film the ecological impacts the spill had on the local environment. Then, I filmed my first ever live shot for Chapman News with @calistakirk as my camera operator!

I felt so honored to have covered that story as it broke and to have the opportunity to work with such talented women as Emma and Calista! They inspire me so much and I’m glad covering this story brought us together!

Working with amazing individuals like them and covering stories such as this are some of the reasons why I love journalism.

Holding my last Chapman News rundown feels surreal!

Today, I produced my last live newscast of @chapmannews ever! After 3 semesters executive producing for this amazing newsroom, today’s newscast was my 30th broadcast production I’ve produced during my 4 years @dodgecollege.

I’m so lucky to have had the opportunity to produce newscasts with all the incredible people in the Chapman News team and family! I’ve learned so much from everyone in the newsroom and I’m so proud of the many newscasts we’ve made together! I could say so much more but I’m trying to save my tears for graduation!

Signing off for the last time, this is Kinsley Rolph reporting as your Chapman News EP 🤗 by @krolphreports

Our 1st and 2nd newscasts of the Spring semester went amazing! Check out some BTS of me producing ^^

We’re trying a lot of new things this semester to keep you all engaged and to keep improving! I’m so lucky to work with such a talented group that will listen to my wild ideas via voice memos at 10 at night and be open to making them happen when we go Live! Such a special newsroom this semester!

So excited for the rest of the newscasts coming up! Stay tuned! 🎥🔴

One of my favorite classes I’ve taken at Dodge is Advanced Multi-Camera Production! You get to make 5-25 minute shows with your friends, what’s better than that? Here’s some BTS from some of the shows last semester & yesterday!

1 - when I tried out directing for the first time!

2 - me hosting a thumb war between @megannsun & @gaja_collin

3 - it’s me modeling a candy corn costume!

4 - @adri_mitchie and I fighting in Judge Roomie!

5 - me anytime I’m in the tv stage 🤗 taken in Dodge College of Film & Media Arts by @krolphreports

It’s my last semester of @chapmannews & my last semester ever @dodgecollege!

It’s a bittersweet feeling but I’m going to make the most of my final 4 months in this newsroom. I’ll be solo executive producing Chapman News and I couldn’t be more excited! I met with the new class today and it’s a group I’m really looking forward to working with.

My favorite day of the week is Tuesday! Want to know why?

1. Chapman News broadcasts live every Tuesday at 1PM PST on FB & YouTube!

2. Tuesday is for Taco Tuesday! I’ve been eating tacos for dinner almost every Tuesday since I was a kid 🌮

Comment below what your favorite day of the week is….

P.S. did you think we wear heels when we’re on camera? Sneakers are a must! taken in Dodge College of Film & Media Arts by @krolphreports

I had the pleasure of jumping on weather for Chapman News this semester! I’m so glad I got to try it out before I graduate. It’s fun, but I’ll take producing over weather now any day! You’d be surprised how tough it really is!

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending SPJs MediaFest in DC! It was a great opportunity to enhance my journalism experience and spend time with my Student Leadership Institute cohort from 2021. We attended the keynote presentation with Woodward and Bernstein and that was a dream! Some of my favorite breakout sessions were How to Save Newsrooms in Small Town America, a Broadcast Roundtable, Trauma in the Newsroom: How to Protect your Mental Health, and my favorite: Unplugging from the Newsroom with @thenewsyogi

I made some amazing connections with new friends and old. I even got to go into the National Press Club in DC! I was starry eyed the whole time! I am so excited to bring all the things I learned back to my newsroom, @chapmannews and in my figure newsrooms! @spj_pics MediaFest was a success and I hope I can go to more of their events in the future. by @krolphreports
