El Capitán signing off for his 4th and Final Year. From .071 to .417, from 0-3 to 2-0, from being a “don’t put in” as a pitcher to being a top option, closing out games, and being top 60 in strikeouts in 1A. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey these 4 years for trusting in me and supporting me through something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little kid, now I have the opportunity to do big things.

#JarrenDuran is the current face of mental health struggles in the sport of baseball, but other athletes in this space have been affected including myself, for 4 years of my life I played baseball in High School, battling depression and su!c!dal thoughts throughout 2 of the 4 years, which led me to try to rebuild myself as a person, starting in November 2024 I didn’t act on my thoughts I kept myself firm even though I was under immense mental pressure. Another Year, another period of growth, another year of ups and downs, this year is special. I finally turned 18, I’m in college now, I’m still involved in my sport of Baseball, I found someone perfect for me when I felt like I was going to give up, and I grew closer with the people that matter to me the most. I go into turning 18 with a lot of hope for success, something that I never truly thought I deserved. But with all the time I devoted into my craft and into bettering myself, I have hope for a lot of things such as, being a good partner, showing what I have as an athlete, doing well in a new level of school, showing my true identity to everyone that thinks anything and everything about me. I thank every single person that has been with me throughout my entire life and even recently, I thank my family, my girlfriend and her family, as well as my friends, coaches, and everyone I can’t mention off the top of my head, for making me a better person and giving me the grit to keep going when I couldn’t. 4 years coming all to an end on Friday. A lot of trials and tribulations came down to finally leaving the door. This final year and the things that happened in it, such as, falling in love with someone who I feel is right for me and knows how treat me, breaking through and putting up a great last season in baseball, and bonding more with my peers by going to baseball games, going to prom and parties, brought back the light that everybody fights to bring back, being surrounded by people that know how to support you at the times you need it the most. We’re finally out and it’s time to make a name for ourselves in the new chapter of our lives. Thank you to all my friends, family, and teachers/coaches that have guided me through this time of my life, seeing me through all my struggles and not giving up on me no matter how hard it got, thanks for the memories. From being a little kid going to the cages w my family dreaming of going pro to being in year 5 of playing baseball for real, chasing my dreams and climbing the ranks. I’m ready to have a great season and hopefully being able to continue this dream next school year in college. There’s been a lot of work put into this year for me and we as a team are a good group of guys and I feel like we can get work done and make a playoff push again. I want to thank god for giving me the right path, showing me the possibilities of my decisions and seeing through the negative when i needed it the most, as well as giving myself and my teammates the opportunity to show everyone what we got. During this season, I’ll be having to commit to a college, that decision will be made a week or two before May 1st that update will be posted too, so a lot of big things for this season for us as a team and myself personally. The hawks helped me grow as a player and a person and im excited to take that to another school at a higher level with a chance to be drafted in the future. But without said, this team has a chance to be something really special and im glad I get to be apart of it every day and try to help guys with what they need work on as well as working on myself. it’s an amazing experience and I hope it stays like that even when I do end up leaving. I want to thank god for giving me the right path to success this year. he made my life great while enduring big obstacles, showing me the balance of life and death. i want to thank a lot of people and they know who they are but I’ll briefly explain: my coaches for believing in me, my friends that i already had and the ones i met along the way, my family for being the strongest people in my life when I wasn’t as strong, and my teammates for being by my side when needed the most. i’m grateful to have played this season and was able to show my talent and lead my team back to the playoffs. i can’t wait to go back out there in march and hopefully win a chip with guys that i know want it just as much as I do. thank you for all the support given at all, even the littlest bit, it means the world to me. I can’t wait for what the future holds and I hope you guys will be here with me to watch and support. -KM13🔒💙

Quiero darle gracias a Dios por guiarme por el camino correcto hacia el éxito este año. Hizo que mi vida fuera maravillosa a pesar de los grandes obstáculos, mostrándome el equilibrio entre la vida y la muerte. Quiero agradecer a muchas personas, y ellas saben quiénes son, pero lo explicaré brevemente: a mis entrenadores por creer en mí, a mis amigos, tanto a los de siempre como a los que conocí en el camino, a mi familia por ser las personas más fuertes en mi vida cuando yo no lo era, y a mis compañeros de equipo por estar a mi lado cuando más los necesitaba. Estoy agradecido de haber jugado esta temporada y de haber podido demostrar mi talento y llevar a mi equipo de vuelta a los playoffs. From being the only two freshman in 2023 to being the only two left from that team and being captains, we’ve really grown as a duo and helped this team grow from a rebuild year into a playoff spot, we went from 1 and 2 hits each in freshman year to having 4 for 4 games back to back, I went from a 8.84 ERA to a 0.00 ERA because you and the rest of guys believed in me the same way I believe in you all. You went from no hits in the regular season to being one of if not the best hitter in the whole league. I couldn’t be more grateful to lead a team with you day in and day out because it shows how much work we put in to get better and better. Looking at the drive and determination that you, me, and all the rest of the guys put in even during the offseason we are the team to beat in 2026. All we have to do is show everyone how good we are on the field and we both know that we can go really far next season and of course hopefully put up great seasons and play in the exceptional seniors game after the season ends. We are and always will be big dawgs cause we italiannn 🤌🤌🤌🤌🇮🇹

Dream seasons always end at some point. This was probably the best season I’ve had ever. Thank you to all the guys supporting me day in and day out, my coaches, my family, EVERYBODY. Y’all really kept me going while I was in and out of bad states and making sure I had a path to succeed. All that help lead me to a .391 average in the regular season and a 0 ERA, cementing myself as a regular in the pitching rotation. We all tried our best in this past game and even the whole year, and I’m proud of this team from going 1-10 last year to getting into the playoffs and winning a game at that, was a great comeback. We will be back better next year, let’s just keep moving and make sure we don’t regress. - El Capitan Azul #13 by @krvlly.13
