When Sian @siancrichards proposed styling this room with my artwork I warned her that it’s not easy to re-photograph. Sian was adamant that it was just the thing for this incredible interior by @ksd.designs for the @westontable catalog. She was right. What a pleasure to see Honey & Anemone in this deep and delicious gorgeous space. taken in Newburyport, Massachusetts by @ksjaar

Epic video for an epic hike with my sister Amy @a_sjaarda in Charlevoix Quebec. Every good journey has ups and downs but this one crossed many typographical lines every day. Highlights: walking through the taiga, millions of mushrooms, cozy huts with wood stoves, watching a family of beavers working away in the dawn light, a whole week with my ❤️ sister. Ten outta ten would do again. #traverséedecharlevoix #huttohut #hut2hut

New work in progress. Everything you see exists in my studio, captured on a digital file. In a few days all that will remain are the ceramics and the image. Everything else will end up in the compost, fertilizer for next year’s garden. by @ksjaar

Kristin Sjaarda’s editioned photographs “Monarch & Coneflower” and “Garden Rose & Flicker” bring an impactful conversation point to this beautiful home in Canada’s cottage country.

Kristin Sjaarda’s artworks explore themes of decay, renewal, and the delicate interplay between the natural world and human intervention. Inspired by the work of Rachel Ruysch, particularly her portrayal of nature’s impermanence, Sjaarda’s photographs reflect the fleeting beauty of flora, while confronting contemporary concerns of climate change and environmental degradation.
