Photographer… and adding writer to the resume 💪

Huge thank you to @someginger and @walshmt for encouraging me to write, and continually supporting me as a photographer. TTR is such a special event and I LOVE that I was able to add words to go with my photos.

I still can’t believe how far I’ve come in the last few years. It feels incredible knowing my hard work and persistence has paid off and I am forever grateful to all those who have encouraged me for 10+ years 💕

Well, it feels like it’s about time to update the socials on some exciting things that have been happening. (In case anyone was wondering, I really hate writing about myself. It’s tough for me).

As of this last week, I have officially become 100% freelance! And yes - I am still working for @theskihut, doing all the marketing gal things with @jenny.arndt just in contract form and not on the sales floor much anymore. This was a really big step in the direction I want my career to go and I’m super excited, and SO nervous.

By switching to a contract at Skihut I have more time to pursue other photography work in the snowboarding world, and weddings/engagements (stay tuned for more on that). I’m really looking forward to spending more time with @btbounds and other events this winter.

So, in short, I’m looking for more photography work. Keep me in mind if you’re in the action sports world, getting engaged or married, or just have a rad project you want help with. Nothing fuels my creativity and passion like being around other passionate people.

@trollhaugentroll hosted its annual OpenHaugen event this past weekend. Per usual, the locals were killing it.

Second year doing the Heck of the North 50!

Couldn’t have asked for better weather, 60s and over cast but a sunny finish. The race started with 15 miles of steady climbing headed inland from Two Harbors. Near the end of the climbing I ran into @jenny.arndt and @eeessabel and cruised on some downhill. Then turned into some fun ATV trails with big puddles (hence all the mud) and right at the end of that stretch the only aid station on course! And even better @nicky.kumerow was volunteering there, and Noah met me there as well.

After the aid station I was able to stick with Jenny and Izzy through some beautiful smooth gravel and leaves starting to change color. Then we went down a fun hill while watching others climb back up - which knowing we had to climb it made it less fun going down. But, we made it back up after a little loop and turned onto the soft, muddy, slow snowmobile trail. After laughing while getting stuck and sinking in mud we got back on more nice gravel, rounded a corner, andddd went into a head wind. Luckily it was only a few more miles to the finish and the sun was shining.

I must have actually hydrated well prior to a race for once because I felt great, just sore legs by the end. My goal this year after not riding as much as I had hoped was to finish around 5 hours, or finish at all. I finished in 4 hours 16 minutes, largely due to riding with Jenny and Izzy for the majority of the race! Couldn’t have done it without you two 🫶 thank you to all the volunteers and rad people that make this event possible!!

Design work for @theskihut ✨

I’ve loved creating merch that follows current ski/snowboard/bike trends, but my favorite has been incorporating the graphics from Ski Hut newspaper ads that ran in the 60s and 70s. Over all - it’s just been really fun 🤘 by @kstarholden
