Again one of those better days at work. Outdoor activities for the whole school, so together with @konttimuija we took a group teenagers to the skatepark. 👌

Plan A was Leppävaara in Espoo, but the rain made us choise plan B, ie. Hermanni skatepark in Helsinki. Under the bridge the rain didn’t matter, and everybody had a good time. 😊

Historical moment last night…

We’ve had regular kobudo classes at Kauniaisten Karate @kauniaistenkarate for over a year now, but main focus has been on Yamaneryu bojutsu, with a few students getting familiar with some other weapons.

Last night was the first time that the whole group trained with tonfa/tuifa. Obviously basics to start with, but with this amazing group I know that progress will be exponential. 😊👍

New asphalt in our neighborhood! 👌

Haven’t been on the @yowsurf in a while, so felt a bit wobbly at first, but oh so smooth at lower speeds. 🤙

Back home after a great weekend @kaizenkankampsportscenter in Åkersberga, Sweden. As usual when teaching seminars, I forget to take photos, so thanks to Carles Gómez Martínez @carles_gomez for sending me this one! 😊

Thanks to all the eager participants, you did a great job with all the material covered, and to sensei Leif Hermansson @leif.hermansson for the invitation and wonderful hospitality. Empty pumptrack, perfect weather, a very good friend and a new deck… What more can you ask for? 😎

Think I’ve finally found the perfect pumptrack setup for me:

Wheels: Orangatang Lovehandles 65mm 80A
Bearings: Bones Reds

Even on tired legs I got faster laps than ever before. A lunch break well spent!

What an amazing weekend we had at the Finnish Koryu Uchinadi summer camp! Wasn’t the biggest event we’ve had, but probably the best one so far!

Many thanks to Dr. Juha-Matti Huhta for an excellent lecture, to our guest instructor Tomi Purhonen @tomi_purhonen , to Ari Nuutinen @karatebyari for helping out on a short notice, and to my wingmen Jarmo Bäckman @fitboostpt and Jyrki Innanen @jyrkiinnanen . Working with you was a pleasure, and it was great to see how seamlessly our sessions could be linked together.

Thanks to all the participants, especially Tamas Solymos and Scott Van Oorschot, who came all the way from Hungary and the Netherlands.

Also thanks to Tiina Airola-Siponmaa @airolasiponmaa , Kristian Ahlroth @studiotiti_oy @kauniaistenkarate for helping with the practical arrangements, and last but not least, to Hanshi Patrick McCarthy @koryu.uchinadi for all the support and guidance during the last 25+ years! 🙏
