Fall is here 🍂 The trees have turned orange and yellow, the air is crisp, and giving us a good excuse to slow down to enjoy the cozy season.

Come spend an afternoon at Flavours of Hope Cafe on Granville Island. Five immigrant women-owned and Black-owned food businesses share one community space and one collective menu here. Each business brings recipes and stories from its own culture.

In one visit, you can try Mexican sopa de lima from @sabor_a_yucatan, Chilean empanadas from @ruka.cocina, plant-based Afro Caribbean dishes, spice blends and sauces from @kulafoods, Jamaican patties from @elbo_patties and Indian-inspired sweet and savoury pastries from @elaichipatisserie.

Come for the food, stay for the stories. Find us in the Public Market at 1689 Johnston Street, across from JJ Bean, open daily Monday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm.

The night before: an empty table.
By morning: CHFA Toronto. 🧡

We showed up this year as part of the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture and Food’s BC Pavilion, standing alongside a strong group of fellow independent B.C. food and beverage brands.

Seven years in, this is still where the magic happens — in the demos, the markets, the trade shows like this one: watching someone taste Pili Pili drizzled onto popcorn for the first time, answering questions on the spot, and standing next to other founders who get exactly what it takes to build something from scratch.
