🌬This is a blessing recorded when Herlinda, Shipibo elder and healer from the Amazon was still in this terrestrial plane.🌬

May your spirit receive it and feel peace.

Once again Police brutality is taking lives , this time was the turn of Peru, my homeland. And of course victim blaming is at its finest: The protestors. The media justifies the deaths because of the confrontation of protesters with the police.
NO, protesting isn’t a crime! The institution of the Police is rotten to the core everywhere...
Having been in the streets in Lima protesting a corrupt government before, it hurts being far away during these times. I am reliving the frustration, and at the same time empowered to see so many young people showing up #weseeyou
It hurts to see a small group of people ignoring the screams of a nation. Greed and power has rotten so many nations for thousands of years!
Peru is a nation that has been brainwashed to look up to Europe & USA example of “civilized society” because Europeans convinced us that we were uncivilized, savages and brutes! We believed it and tried so hard to fit in! We’re an indigenous Nations, enriched w/the African diaspora. We’re Abundant!
But we need to start changing inside , perhaps this is the time to rethink and heal from our taught “colorismo”, our subconscious prejudice towards others. That was the plan of the colonizer, to eradicate the indigenous inside of us.
Sending prayers of love, unity & healing to my people.
Let’s not allow the anger turn into hate. The Ruler class will fall! ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽

Feeling deep gratitude for being present today at the Medicine Wheel at Haskell Indian Nations University grounds, at the event honoring the Wakarusa wetlands.

Urpillay Sonqollay to those who organized it and brought a beautiful crowd, to share, learn and honor these sacred grounds
Stories were shared, and a sense of serenity and joy was present.
It was good to see some friends and meet new ones too.
I left this space after feeling the joy of bringing my Andean Medicine, to the fire that was set in the center of the Medicine Wheel. (🙏🏽🙏🏽Dan Wildcat for the tobacco offering)
What a placed in the center was a K’intu in of coca leaves. CocaMama or Inalmama is the and ancient Andean medicine that connects us with the Apus (or sacred mountains) and the spirits of the land. A k’intu is a group of coca leaves that form a bundle, make a prayer, we blow over the k’intu, this way it contains our prayers, which are later place it in an offering.

@celebrateamerikana_ is right around the corner and I'm so happy to be creating a community weaving on the day with my sisters @kunturwarmi and @dcorn.arts , Las Tejeras Guerrilleras. We're looking for weavers, no experience necessary!! Come create with us for an hour or all day on August 1st @concourse park in NEKC!! We're also looking for textile donations, so bring that pile of old clothes that hasn't made it to the drop site yet!

@celebrateamerikana_ is near and dear to my heart and supports @artasmentorship year round youth music programming. It's an opportunity to see the kids perform along incredible musicians each year and this year wow, we've got @ginachavez @radkeyrock @mkngmovies @salvationchoir and more!!

Come on out to the park and celebrate with us!! taken in The Concourse by @kunturwarmi
